I think you're cutting it too close. I don't think you'll have both in a month. I can't remember exactly how long it took us, but it was considerably longer than a month. We also went through Cebu. John Domingo is the Consular officer there, he's a really good guy.

Edit: my wife says it was about a month to six weeks. You may be ok.

Really? =( Well I dont have any other choice actually. I am 5 months pregnant and need to leave for the U.S. by next month because I cannot travel past 6 months, from what my OB says. My husbands visa got approved last week and called him that he will receive his visa in 4-5 days. I couldn't do the CRBA in Manila because i've been checking available slots for a month (when i found an available slot for my husbands interview first week of May. So we could do the CRBA and husbands interview at the same time or in 2 days so we can save from the fare, since we are all the way from Mindanao. I wasn't convinced before that we could do the CRBA in Cebu.) and still no vacant. And we are planning to leave all together. My daughter's CRBA was done in Manila 2 years ago, didnt have a problem with that. Took less than a month to receive both her passport and CRBA. My sons CRBA would have been done last year but I didnt know the requirements for a non-married and wedlock were different. For my 1st child, i gave birth to her but not married to my husband. after 6 months we got married.

When did you exactly do your childs CRBA in Cebu? Do i need to come early? Ive read they open at 9-11am only. And ive also read it would take 4-6 weeks to receive it if done in Cebu. But taking our chances  May I know where your from? and did you have it delivered to your home or for pick up?

Thank you

We did the CRBA in Cebu I believe in January 2010. I've been searching through my emails here, it appears it may have been a bit faster than I had thought. We got our marriage license from NSO around January 17th, 2010 (we felt we needed this to not have problems applying for his U.S. citizenship - we got married after he was born), must have gone to Cebu days later, and I know we had the passport by the middle of February. So contrary to what I said, you should be fine with your timeline. I remembered wrong....

From what I heard from other moms who did it in Cebu recently, they send the application to Manila so it takes longer. Not really sure how that works but in an FB group for crba applicants that I'm a member of that's what they were talking abt.

Thought so and I agreed. Someone in this CRBA forum at VJ had cried out: "it is consulate, not embassy(!)." American Service Center, Consular Section in US Embassy now only accept mail-in appointment. Even through their website stated the effective date is August 1st, but consider the new change on the day when new policy went in effect on July 1st. See other comments I respond at end of this post.

Same way as Philippine Bureau of Immigration in Manduae adjudicates my wife's petition to upgrade my visa status, but then this attorney (no longer there) sent up to headquarters in Manila for approval of my 13a visa, Resident application through marriage. It took more as 3 months for all approval to come back.

I concur. Save your energy and money going Visayan route. It will take like eternally if doing in Cebu. What if well-known John Domingo, Cebu American Consul, decline to adjudicate your petition? So it is best to resist temptation to do easy but non-exist way.How do I know? I scanned "Cebu Consulate" within Embassy website, also did further with goggling it. Even I found my old bookmark too and clicked it, and it took me tight back to frontpage of USEM. Appear that sub-page along with Virtual Mindanao sub-page was taken down by new rotation of Foreign Service staffs. . :ranting:

Don't play by ear. See the post I made in http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/503959-new-changes-for-crba-manila-filers/?p=7116939 and http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/499643-crba-no-available-appointments/?p=7116858 :reading:

General things in VJ is Do-It-Yourself site which we all would help, giving advices, pointers and tips. I would like to think those law practitioners-for-paid and legal guide (the navigator-for-hired) out there: those who might like us not to perform DIY but letting them do all legal paperworks, pretending s/he know the best route for shortcut or else to apply jurisdiction, e.g. under the table, are merely fable and cannot stop us. This is information age we are living. WE all have same knot to tie, same kind of anxiety, same kind of sweat, of facing judgmental day whether CO grant our visa or not. If you do what we did you will achieve nothing less but pride in your accomplishment.

Question for you: will you be willing go through all navigating to learn and study trial and errors of others and then apply toward your pathway to get U.S. visa? Even this means making feedback or giving input from your candid observation.

It takes abt 3 weeks for the crba and passport to be delivered to a Manila address after an approval. About +2 weeks for a provincial address. Add another month if a DNA test is required.

Walk ins in Cebu as far as I know. There's a new process for setting appointments in Manila, you have to mail in your application and USEM will be the one to schedule your interview. Slots for July and August has been gone since at least last month.

I mailed my application to USEM about 2 weeks ago. I got an email from them last week and scheduled for August 7. I didn't think it was gonna be that fast since July/August were already filled up on the site. Don't forget to use a courier so you can track your mail to USEM.

Hello, may I ask what happened with your application via Cebu Consulate at this time of year after this new announcement of mail-in application. I had my experience with Cebu Consulate application last March 2014 and took us til June 2014 to receive the passport and the certificate of our baby. I wanted to know if we will do it again this March 2015, what would be the possibilities or route to do it so it will be more faster to bring back our child to USA? Thanks for your reply. Have a nice week.
