Me an spouse have ~600 pages worth of I-751 marriage evidence (unexpectedly) and are wandering how to package and mail it over with our I-751 application. We decided not to get affidavits from friends, and bulk up on the rest. Hopefully what we have is not too much evidence. However we don't want to get dinged for sending too little (without affidavits from friends) .

  • Birth Certificate (Baby)
  • Joint Will Docs (notarized)
  • Joint Tax Return Transcripts
  • Debit Card History
  • Primerica Legal Protection Program cards (joint membership)
  • Sam's Club cards (joint membership)

  • Joint Checking/Savings Acct Statements (~240 pages)

  • Joint Investment statements (~30 pages)
  • Completed Homestead Exemption Application
  • Joint Homeowners Insurance Declaration Documents
  • Joint Property Tax Statements
  • Mortgage Escrow Account History Statements (Shows Property Tax and Homeowners Insurance payments)
  • Life Insurance Policy Declarations

  • Joint Auto Insurance Policy Cards

  • DMV Reg Docs
  • Joint Dental Insurance Statements (EOBs) (~30 pages)
  • Medical Insurance EOBs and Records for Pediatric Care (~60 pages)
  • Child-Birth Class Registration and Certificate, Hospital Visit Badges, and Childbirth Tags
  • Reservations, Tickets, Receipts, and Photos from various Family Trips and Events

  • Proofs and Receipts of Family Photo Sessions (~20 pages)

Any ideas? Thank you for help.

Massive overkill. 240 pages of bank account statements? How does one even get that many pages in a checking account statement? Mine is like 1 or 2 pages per month.

Just send the first page of every month of bank statements, or send evenly spaced statements of every 3rd or 4th month. Same thing with the medical and dental insurance - just a few representative pages that show you are covered together over the period of time you are documenting.

I think we had a lot less than 50 pages worth of evidence.

Send everything that you have. You don't want any reason to get an RFE. (Don't worry, no one gets an RFE demanding weak evidence). Your evidence looks great. Don't worry about affidavits - they are considered weak evidence. My package was about 2 inches thick with my cover letter and supporting documents. I did not include any photos, reservations, trips, or affidavits or anything that showed neither the comingling or funds nor joint living/address. But more is always better than less so keep what you have. I had my 10-year green card in 3 months flat.

If you are sending your package in soon, join the June 2014 filers group so you can ask advice and track the progress of other people who filed for removal when you did. Good luck!

Affidavits are very important!! You need at least 2.

Not true at all, unfortunately. No one piece of evidence is utterly important. However, affidavits are still considered weak evidence and can be excluded altogether if stronger evidence (joint financial liability) is lacking. You do not need any arbitrary number of them. This advice comes directly from immigration officers - not simply my opinion :). Good luck!

'2 inches' of documents is a lot less than 600 pages. There is absolutely no need to send in hundreds of pages of bank statements. Ridiculous.

It can all still be sent in without penalty. The worst that happens is they glance it over. Hundreds of pages is quite a bit but I don't think including every page of their joint statements is ridiculous. There is no harm in including them and no judgment on my part. :)

No need for hundreds of pages of bank statements. From approval of GC, 1 bank statement every 3-4 months to cover through the time you apply for ROC. And yes, all pages of the bank statements need to be sent in, not just the first page.

Wanna know what the harm is? Put yourself in the shoes up the person receiving that. Their internal monologue: 'this idiot sent me ~1000 pages worth of junk? Jeez. I think I'll stick this one in the corner/lose one of their forms/stick them with a bogus RFE.' They're human. It makes sense to provide them with what they need, perhaps a bit more, but don't drown them in unnecessary papers.

You need to speak to the OP, not me, about your position. From speaking to an immigration officer, more is better than less. They are not obligated to read every single page and when I asked about an abundance of pages, the reply was that while cumbersome, it was not an issue that incited the vindictiveness your post suggests. My opinion prior to speaking with an immigration officer was that hundreds of pages was overkill and a reason for them to act in a punitive manner. After speaking with them, my response is "meh - send it all if you want". Yes, they are human. But better humans than we think. They too have to follow through with the bureaucracy that many of them find excessive too. :)

Waaaayyyy overkill! Send in a few bank statements maybe one from each quarter NOT 240 pages worth! 90 pages of medical and dental?? Cut that down to an example spanning time... And seriously, receipts for family photo sessions (20 pages) really? What the heck kind of silly evidences is that? Totally useless tree deaths there...

C'mon, use common sense, quality over quantity... There is no reason on earth that you need to submit 600 pages of evidence to prove you are living as husband and wife... That is just crazy... Edit, edit, edit...

Quality over quantity. And good evidence does NOT make you get approved faster. It only gets an approval without RFE.

Well said, it even confuses examiner too. It looks like OP goes all-in with USCIS.

Put in what you need to establish each element of your proof. I always number the pages of a submission. Put a cover page with tab and page numbers to the particular exhibit. this mean the adjudicator can quickly see what he needs to and skip the rest.
