I am a newcomer to this website. Am glad that my cousin's hubby had recommended this to me because l find it very helpful and interesting to read all those posts especially the K-1 Fiancee Visa. My boyfriend and l first met in person last January. He visited me for 3 weeks. And he plan to come again in August for our second meeting. Just a month ago, he told me about his plan in August to submit his petition by September when he get back to the States, God willing. We already started preparing our paperwork by downloading the forms and etc. And we will just have to finalized everything once he's here in August. Regarding the DS-160 sample form that l saw here l got worried when l read, "Has anyone filed an immigrant petition on behalf of you"? Because my mother filed an immigrant petition way back in 2007 and still pending. I wasn't able to go with her because l was already overage then, that's why when she got to the States she petitioned us thru the F2B family based immigrant. I'm feeling anxious if it would affect in getting my K-1 fiancee visa. What do you think guys? Please help!!! :-(

Oh btw, l met my boyfriend thru online dating website just last year. :-) after we met in person, he then visited my Mom and relatives when he headed back to the States.

Mine is petition for alien worker... I have NOA1 for it, but because of the long backlog, I still dont have any news about it. Then I met my fiance. I was not expecting for it, but he asked me to marry him. :)

Anyhow, you just have to be honest, if your mom has applied a petition on your behalf, then answer YES and explain that an application has been made and is still on process.. just be honest when you answer ds-160.

Do not worry too much.. It is just fine. :)

You should answer, " yes". Always be honest because no matter how hard you try to hide it, they will find it anyway. I don't think the prior petition will affect your K-1 visa process. As long as your relationship is genuine there is nothing should be worried. Good luck!

Hi emmanettes! Thank you and l appreciate for taking the time to read my post. :-) Yeah l'm gonna put and answer, "YES" because honesty is the best policy. But what makes me anxious, if the Consul would grant me a visa or not after knowing that l am currently waiting for my Mom's petition. Ayayay! I'm a bit paranoid if what's gonna happen but excited at the same time! Gonna keep my fingers crossed aja!! ;-)

I was like that, too. I bugged my fiance about my pending alien worker petition. He told me to not overthink because it will not affect our K1 visa. Anyhow, it is still pending. Just prove to them that your relationship is real..:)

Nope, won't affect your K-1 visa process at all.

Rule #1 - always, always answer ALL questions honestly during this process.
