Post Decision Activity

On June 5, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I checked my case tonight and saw the notice as above i noticed according tp the website timeline. My case skipped the stages of further evidence and testing and interview. So what does it mean.

Also how should i update my timeline.

It took less than a month since the time they received it until it was approved.

well - yer profile and yer timeline mention DCF -

so I'll tell ya - this is about the average turn-around time for DCF'd I-130s.

If yer actually a DCF filer - that casefile will get lobbed over to Cuidad de juarez for Consular intake and further processing - the NVC stage skipped altogether.

Might be a good thing to study the DCF Consular process for CDj when you next have some free time - it's not comparable to NVC at all - save that the forms are the same.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Congrats, approvals sometimes come quick but thats the easy step. its to check and see when is your prioity date and if those dates are current. it depends where you are that sometimes the wait can be 5-10years because of the back log.

how is that even possible - a priority date back-log for USCitizen Petitioners? 5 years? No Way !

PD has nothing to do with US Citizens. So this does not apply. And even if they were a LPR 5 to 10 years fro a spouse. I think not.

I am happy for you. The cases are assigned in the order in which they came in to an examiner and once the examiner has what he needs to make a decision, there is no reason to hold it. If everything is ready for an approval at the first glance the examiner will approve it and send it on it's way. Frankly, some examiners are faster at resolving cases than others.

OP: Are you both residing abroad?

Yes she came to Mexico to marry me and to live with me until we both could go back to the states. We tried the DCF but we were told at the mexican embassy that we were not eligible for DCF since she had not lived in mexico long enough. So we were told to mail the i-130 to the Chicago Lockbox.

I am now learning more about the the next stage but I got a little confused with the stages presented on the USCIS status page.

I was not eligible to DCF because my wife has not established residence in Mexico long enough. We were told at the embassy we should mail the application to Chicago Lock box instead.

Do you know more about what stage follows? If the NVC or the one at Ciudad juarez? How do they differ from each other.

Thank you because I am trying to learn more about the next stage since the AOS will be a little complicated for us.

So, you were put in the auto-expedite queue for petitioners residing abroad. Folks on VJ have been tracking it.

Another question. About two weeks after we got married we found out we were pregnant. Now, the baby is due around November 29. Is there any chance I can request an expedite process becuase we want the baby to be born in the US?

I really want to be present when our baby is born (its our first baby ever, and she is not taking pregnancy very well so who knows how many more we will have) and although I have a visitor visa, I dont wanna risk being denied entry because our pending immigration process...

Anyone knows if that can be subject to expedite the process?

Anyone knows more about traveling with visitor visa to the US while pending immigration requests?

Thank you everyone.
