My wife came to the US from Canada on a K1 visa. We filed for AOS immediately and recently received a welcome letter followed by her Conditional Green Card... but without ever going for an AOS interview. Is this normal? Is it because she is from Canada? We are not complaining, but very confused.

It's been known to happen, especially if your case has be transfered to CSC. Seems to be happening mostly to those who entered the US on K1, rather than K3 or any other visa.

Congratulations!

congratulations! they've vastly sped up the AOS process for a lot of people by transferring cases to CSC in California and in effect rubber-stamping them... they're cutting the queue length down by getting people through as fast as possible, and no doubt they'll come back and give you an interview later on, probably when you lift conditions.
