So question, my wife just received a message from the doctor saying that there were complications with the chest x-ray. They think it is TB. Will she get denied for the interview because of this?

Is there any way around this?

If she is getting treated will she still get denied her Visa?

Normally the next step is a sputum test, as the xray is prone to false positives and the sputum test is not.

If the sputum test is positive, then your wife has TB and will need to get it treated before she gets her visa. She will not be denied the visa, but she wil not get it until treatment is complete and she is TB free.

BE GLAD THEY FOUND IT: TB is a fatal illness. I am certain you don't want her to come to the United States sooner instead of later only to die of a fatal illness as a result. It can be treated and cured, but until it is treated it is airborne and highly contagious.

Hopefully the sputum test will show negative, but if it shows positive, let the doctors do their thing and cure her.

Is it not possible to get it treated here? The reason why I ask this is because I have insurance, and I cannot put her on my insurance until she is in the USA >.<

She can get treated here but they won't issue her visa without getting treated in her home country 1st. The reason for that "TB is communicable disease aka infectious disease, if she has TB and she comes here, there is a chance that someone else can get infected from her. TB is common disease in some of the developing countries and its not common in United states so she must need to get treated first in home country"

Now that being said, positive x-ray doesn't mean she is having TB at this moment. Most likely your wife has been exposed to TB in the past and it has been healed without treatment because of body's immune system and in that case scar would have been seen on x-ray. So in order to be 100% sure, they will do sputum culture test and if it turns out to be positive then she will have to go through treatment and if it turns out to be negative then she will be issued visa if everything else is fine.

Good luck and I am sure that it most likely is a false positive X-ray result for active Tb.

The positive result on xray can be many things not related to TB. I have scar tissue on my left lung from bronchitis. It is nothing now but dead scar tissue but would probably trigger a false postiive at SLEC xray machine.

I hope that what your wife has is something like what i have: Dead scar tissue that means nothing. But until she completes sputum, you will not know for sure.

Nope does take 3 months and if it is positive the treatment is 6 months. That is required nothing you can do to spend up at all. Sorry
