Question for you all,

My wife has applied for citizenship based on our marriage (I am USC). The N-400 was completed accurately in March but since then we have had a baby.

Her interview is in early July before an offical birth certificate will be available. As of now the submitted N-400 is incomplete. From what I have heard in the interview they review the entire N-400.

Does anybody have any ideas or experiences of what might happen when she tells them the N-400 in missing our second child?

Thanks.

Congratulations!

Just tell them about the baby and bring any hospital records maybe? Or the baby's first well visit? Tell them the birth certificate has not arrived yet, that's all you can do really. I think it will be ok :) enjoy your newborn!

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

Congrats on your new born!

You can go to your local county office or State Vital Records office and get a birth certificate after paying a fee. Usually the hospital transmits the birth electronically to your local county/records office and they usually have a birth certificate available in 2-3 weeks.

Also, for the interview, take an update N-400 form as well.

Please do let us know what happens. I am expecting as well and due to give birth in September. Given the current processing time in NYC, it looks like my interview will be sometime in October so by then, I might not have a birth certificate as well.

Goodluck and congrats on the new baby!!!!! :dancing:
