try calling around april 12-15, thats when the second round of scheduling will start for May.

yeah. I will be. It had just been said earlier people could start calling now, so I was pointing out that there really wasn't much point.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

After I was told that i had a CC and the site changed to NA on December 30, my file was put into "supervisor review" mid january and I didnt get an official CC until February 6 and my interview was finally scheduled around feb 12

USCIS

January 8th 2014 - NOA1

July 10th 2014 - NOA2

NVC

July 17th 2014 - Case shipped to NVC

July 30th 2014 - Case received by NVC

September 19th 2014 - DS260 Completed

October 6th 2014 - AOS and IV Packages Received

November 28th 2014 - AOS and IV Checklist (4 items in total. 3 for documents they lost. Called on December 9 and a rep said no checklist for IV....go figure)

December 8th 2014 - Checklist scan date.

December 30th 2014 - Case Compl........NOT. So after not having an interview date yet, I called again on Jan 30th and apparently its in final review with a supervisor.

ah, yes, now I remember....those sneaky people at nvc that love tripping up Canadians ;)

good to know....as I'm approaching the end of my rope with this process, and waiting 3 months to get an interview after getting CC (that's if we ever get there) just may get me learning how to tie knots!!!!

this process is getting the best of me :(

It's like a marathon whose finish line keeps moving a few more miles (ahem... kilometres) down the line, eh?

All that time your file was with USCIS has got to buy you some miles at NVC, right?

Hang in there.... you are nearing the end!

A few final updates -- my husband's Visa was shipped from Montreal on 4/1; ready for pickup on 4/4.

With the holiday weekend, he's picking it up tomorrow, 4/7 and we've made his POE flight arrangements through Pearson on 4/11. Can't believe he'll be here in less than a week!

For all of you still going through the process -- hang in there! There is an end to this crazy marathon :)

OK I don't know if I am just dumb or if something is wrong with my login/account. We paid the AOS fees a couple weeks ago and waited, waited, waited until it would allow me to continue to fill out the DS-260. When I am on the payment page it confirms the AOS fees are PAID, and for IV fees is says PAY NOW. If I click that it shows $0.00 is due and does not allow me to submit/click anything… under IV Application is states N/A and I cannot click on it, but under Civil Documents I can and it redirects me and gives me all the necessary information. Of course, I've tried many times to call NVC for help but they're too busy to take my call, and the online help section is of no help. That's why I am here lol am I just completely missing something? We need to get this through ASAP and it's seemingly impossible. Whatever happened to just filling out an application. This all seems so crazy to me, it's slowing us down. The instructions say I need to do the DS-260 before submitting my AOS… which seems different than everyone else is doing. I have everything else ready to do, Im seriously about to just send it in anyways.

I'm going to ignore the advice on my NVC account/website and mail in our affidavit of support. Everything, everywhere and everyone else says that's the order of things and showing how unreliable NVC has been so far, I'm going to trust my past experiences and what other people are doing.

On a similar note - is there a way to email the AOS? I see other people are doing it but again, my instructions tell me I have to mail it in.

Posting here must be my good luck charm. I'll call NVC for days and not get through, post here in frustration and then get through by phone later that day.

So update, there was a glitch on my account not allowing me to pay my IV fees so she fixed that and I should get the updated invoice soon. The glitch was someone listed the fee as $0.00 (which I knew was incorrect), and so since no amount could be paid, I could not continue. She also confirmed I can just mail in everything else in the meantime and they just won't process it until they receive payment. I'm undecided which way to go about it haha.

glad you got that all straighten out. whew!

now, just to be sure, you are aware that nvc is giving case completes in less than 30 days to those whom mail in their docs....vs 70 days for those who are EP'ing.

just wanted you to know mailing docs in is super fast....

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/536896-scan-dates-case-completes-cc

and see ariani's spreadsheet

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10PgA_IJw9TFvAjQGxJUNaQpD-fgwi6yh0pusO54oppo/edit#gid=0

I would hate for you to EP then get stuck even more.....I'd rather see you sail past me then endure more bs.

you have been through enough...:)

Thanks for that tip! I also discovered the reason it wouldn't allow me to submit the AOS application online was because of our MAC, but we have windows on it too so it would just be a matter of switching which application to use. I think I'll just mail in my AOS documents though!
