My prayers were answered.

My congressman office just called and said that my application was approved. They said the NVC was so nice and that the only hold up was that my wifes Taiwan police clearance was cut off at the bottom of the page to the top of the next page. So basically nobody wanted to take accountability if something went wrong down the road. wow if I had know this I would have gotten my congressman office involved 3 months ago. Good luck to everyone and don't be afraid to take action.

Alone. From what I've read it doesn't make a difference if they go or not

My hubby came with me, but spouses are not called into the interview room. I suppose there may have been rare cases where a spouse has been called into a Canadian interview, but I think it's probably a rare thing. Spouses can wait in the waiting area for morale support :) .

Congrats! Sometimes NVC needs to be poked with a sharp stick to get someone to make a "difficult" decision, for someone to actually take responsibility.

Good luck with the rest of your journey :) !

That is great news T&B !! :D :D I hope that's the worst of the complications!! :D

Question for the hive mind - has anyone changed their DS261 Choice of Agent after it has already been submitted?? We completed these on the 9th, so it's only 2 weeks... paperwork was submitted the 12th and we are waiting for the IV fee & DS 260....

What I've run in to (and hind sight is 20/20...) USC hubby was listed as the agent, and now NVC won't speak to me about my children's cases..... kinda frustrating, kinda makes sense..... he doesn't have the time/patience to call NVC and I would like to be able to talk about all three at the same time.....

Thoughts????

So interview on Friday and getting my things in order. If you guys can let me know if I'm missing anything that would be great! I already sent all the originals so I'm assuming I don't need to provide the originals again (duh)

P4 letter

Looms letter

2 passport pics

Medical

Original of eligibility document (this is the only photocopy I sent)

Passport

So above in my eyes are the only mandatory things I need (correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm also taking

-more proof of a bona fide marriage

Photocopies of civil docs (I don't know why I need this since I sent photocopies already to Nvc. It was on p4 letter so I'll do it)

-police cert photocopy

-marriage cert photocopy

-passport biographic page photocopy

-photocopy of my birth cert with translation

I think that's it for civil docs photocopy

Please let me know if it looks like I'm missing anything!

Thanks! Only 3 days away. Waited 14 months for this, don't want to screw it up!

Hi there! My husband's interview is on Monday, so we're in the prep stage, as well.

Your list looks great to me. The only additional things we're bringing is an updated I-864 -- since I already filed my 2014 taxes -- along with my 2014 W2 and my 2014 tax transcript. We also have secondary originals of everything, but I don't think that is really necessary because we sent all the originals to NVC, too.

Best of luck to you! I hope you'll have a minute to post an update after your interview -- can't wait to hear how everything went :)

That's dumb. I never had that problem, as the beneficiary you should be able to discuss the cases. I had my husband as the choice of agent simply for the US address.
