Ya I'm not sure why it does that haha its not an offensive word!

Well for each call I can get through to NVC it takes 20 tries. With a toddler it can be difficult to find time. I'm not sure why "working" on my case is taking so long. All I need it the new forms sent to me with a case # and then I can start the process. Maybe I should remind them how impatient pregnant women are.

New forms sent to you?

NVC sends you nothing but the document intake form which you can substitute the AOS barcode cover sheet for.

But a case number is handy. Well rather necessary... LOL

It is an offensive word to google as it can mean a great many things. It's slang for sodomy.

I know right? She didn't seem to understand what she was talking about, nor was she reading off a form. She just kept telling me I had to be patient that "they were working on it as we speak" (and I was totally cool and calm on the phone lol). I was like "ok so once you send me an email with a case number, I can call back and update my address"... "No you need to wait until we mail you then notify us"... Um how would I even know if I wasn't there to receive it?!? And also, you JUST SAID I will get emailed, not mailed lol. All I was asking was if she could update my address yet since they were "working on my case as we speak"

Anyways, still no email and I called 6x yesterday with no answer. It's been almost 50 days since they received it.

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

07/09/2014 sent in IR-1 packet to Chicago Lockbox

07/16/2014 NOA1

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

10/01/2014 found out we are expecting baby #2 June 2015!

12/15/2014 NOA2

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

06/16/2015 Baby #2 due - homebirth in Scottsdale, AZ

I'm no expert at this...but since it has taken so long for you to get a case number, would this not justify you to speak with a supervisor? Also, I would confirm that indeed, your case arrived on 12/30. I'm wondering if they have your case at all....this would be worth investigating....a gentle nudge sometimes is all that's needed. Please call again on Monday....you need this ball rolling, before that ball falls :)!!!

I agree, ask for a supervisor.

Also no need to update your address with them. Simply do the DS-261, DS-260 and I-864 with the updated addresses.

I am getting stuff in order for my medical and I have a question. I have had chicken pox when I was a child, i dont have any records to prove it. Would a verbal confirmation be sufficient? Or do I need to get further blood work done or even get a vaccine for it?

I am thinking about booking my medical with Dr Lyndon Mascarenhas in case someone has had any experiences with him

Thank you

Verbal should be good enough. If you look closely you may have a scar somewhere too. I have two and my mom doesn't even remember me having chickenpox when my siblings did.

My husband just booked his medical with Dr. Mascarenhas in Toronto. Just like BatmanFlow I'm curious if anyone has any experiences with him.

They are fast on emails, someone replied right as they opened today and booked me an appt on friday Feb 27.

I asked about verbal confirmation of chicken pox and she said that ok. And getting a booster shot last year was also fine. She was very adamant that I must get my flu shot before I come (my streak of not getting that shot ends)

I search for his name on visa journey and people didnt seem to have any problems with him. He's just very fast and your in and out with him fast. I dont mind that, as long as he does the medical and everything is fine.

I am going to my family doctor for a thorough check up before I leave Canada anyways.

EDIT: I just noticed we both started our journey on January 2014 and will (fingers crossed) end it on March of this year! I almost want to start getting happy but I want to wait until I get my passport back with the stamp before I get excited lol

Completely changing the topic -- have you registered for Loomis yet? The link in the Packet 4 instructions goes to the non-immigrant visa page -- I assume we then go to the immigrant visa page to register. Is that correct?

Hard to believe it's been well over a year for us both on this journey - so happy for us both that the end is finally in sight!
