So apparently it is not cold enough in Winnipeg...we had to go to Montreal to get frostbite..lol!! Hubby and I landed just before 1 PM and managed to find our way to where the buses run from. The bus pass (Opus) for a week now costs $25.50, plus the charge for the card itself - $6.00, which totals $31.50. Still a good deal considering a taxi would charge $40 or more for one one-way trip from the airport to the hotel. We are going to be here 8 days, so well worth it. The 747 takes you right into downtown Montreal where everything is.

Blowing snow with a -31 degree windchill...sweet, but it can't damper our spirits. We are nearly done with this! Will share more as it goes. I have my medical at Medisys tomorrow morning at 11:15, and then we are literally free and loose on the city until my interview on the 10th. Good luck everyone! I will check in as things progress!!

Good luck for the interview

No prob :) I was calling to see if they had rec'd our files from TSC so that I could start the Case # clock ;) From data mining through Saylin's spreadsheet, the average is about 15 days from NOA2 date to NVC rec'd date....

Figured no harm in checking ;)

I'm holding on to hope that we will be one of the quick cases (yeah, I know....:P ) where some are getting their CC about 80 days from when their Case # was assigned.....

I plan on really staying on top of "what comes next" 'cause I really want to get this done...... :)

As long as he confirmed the new date with the Consulate, I imagine there would be no worries.....

I find it much more interesting that NVC called to confirm this with you.... you're the second VJ member I've seen post about NVC calling to remind/confirm the interview...... interesting.....

wow, that's interesting.

I have not heard of such personalized service. Perhaps this is one of their initiatives being implemented....???

Personally, I;d rather them speed up processing cc than phone call reminders

Ironically I got through about two hours after I posted and waited 20 minutes. Received our i130 NOA2 on Dec 15 and NVC said they received it Dec 30 and it'll take 42 days from then to receive contact (by email). He cousins confirm my email or change of address done with USCIS since the case hasn't been opened yet. So... hopefully in the next 10 days or I'll be calling again soon!

** couldn't. Not cousins.

Fingers crossed! We had a return flight booked for May (I'm in the US staying with my husband as of mid Jan) but recently decided to have the baby here since our insurance will cover it and fly back to Ottawa in July. We're really not sure when to book that flight without knowing when the baby will be born and when our interview will be haha. If baby is born in early June we can get his/her passport in time but if not we'll need to fly to Syracuse, NY and drive from there. This will be interesting.

baby eh, that's great. is this the 1st? ah, special times!!! my first left yesterday for a 4 month southeast asia trip....all I could think about all day was how it seems like just yesterday I had her! time flies by quickly.

agreed, this surely will be interesting....

This is our second. DD will be two this month and she was born here in Phoenix. We had plans to move back to Canada so I had to give up my PR and then not even a year later, long story short are coming back lol. I hadn't started working again so luckily can stay here for a while and wait it out. Making sure I don't overstay could be tricky but I think we'll be ok. Worst case if it gets close I'll sign the paperwork to pay US taxes and give up my OHIP for the few weeks/months I am back in Canada.
