Hello Everyone!

So i'm getting ready for my interview in Montreal on Jan 8th! I'm so nervous and I'm about 99% sure I have everything I need...I keep going over my documents though haha.

Anyways, besides all my original AOS and IV docs and copies, loomis confirmation page, NVC interview email, medical package, my passport and a copy of the bio page of my husband's passport - is there anything i'm missing??

Also, I remember reading that we have to pay a fee at the consulate for shipping my passport back. Do I take cash or card and how much is it? Or is that something I do after my interview?

Thanks!

No you don't have to pay any fees. If you wanted the visa package delievered vs picking it up that would cost you through loomis/dhl.

The only other fee you pay is after you get the visa.

They don't accept digital media. You're gonna need to print. :( Buy some ink and cheap paper and print on draft quality if you can!

LOL!! Thanks NLR! I got it printed out...almost 2 inches thick. Hope it fits through the document slot! :D

another question kind of silly, but are big zipper binders are allowed to bring? I have one pretty bulky, but it keeps all my documents neat and safe.

So...my interview is set for Feb 10 at 10:30. I scheduled with Medisys yesterday, and the best he could do for me was Feb 3 at 11:30. I live in Winnipeg and explained that we only want to make the trip to Montreal once. He said that because there is a weekend in there, in order to ensure that the results would be done in time for the interview, the latest appointment available which would safely work for me was the 3rd. The guy was really nice, and told me to bring 5 passport photos, my immunization record, my interview letter, and told me the cost would be $310 (unless any immunizations are needed) payable in cash, debit or credit card.

I am not sure if this long wait time is normal even with a weekend, but my husband and I have planned to use his hotel points for 7 nights, and a coworker of mine who is from Montreal is providing me with lots of tourism info, so we are making the trip a sort-of honeymoon :).

Looking forward to the next step of the journey in less than a month! :dancing:

I doubt they would ask you for relationship proofs given you have kids with same partner and all, but doesn't hurt to be over prepared. Better be safe than sorry.

Yeah, we were kind of hoping for the 4th, but hey...we aren't complaining. There wasn't anything open then. We will just enjoy the sights in Montreal for 7 days. It'll be SO worth it, I'm sure. :}

You absolutely right! We have come too far to have things go off the rails due to a late medical, lol.
