Hmmmm.... looking to get the thoughts/opinions of the hive mind ;)

We are (hopefully) nearing the end of USCIS stage... and I have a wee bit of time off work over the holiday. I was thinking of heading down to the local police station to order the Clearance or whatever it is NVC wants.... what do you think? Too soon? I think I've read that they should be valid for a year... .I am hoping to be able to be through the process and have an interview June/July....

Yes, it's too soon. If you don't have the criminal record then just get the name check done at police station and dont get the certificate that requires finger prints. I went to YRP post in Toronto and got my police clearance in 15 minutes.

Got an email from Loomis that my passport was picked up from the embassy, looks like we'll have it beforje Christmas.

That gives me hope. I didn't get an email but checked the website and the info on there is diff. Fingers crossed.

Did anyone from here borrow my magazine while waiting for their interview on Thursday? I offered someone a magazine to read, and didn't ask if they were from vj at the time. I keep wondering if it was though, and who it might have been if they were.

wasn't me, but I did see you. I was sitting on the end with a blue and black stripe shirt on. The lady behind me had a wool coat too so I thought that was you actually lol.

Yup, I picked it up this evening. I never got an email that it was ready, but when I checked on the usvisa-info website it said ready for pick up, so I went in.

Me either. I was checking the site and tracking it lol. I won't make it there by 7 today so have to go tomorrow. I will head straight across after that. This is exciting! I may try and head to the social security officer too for my card.

Takes about 2-3 weeks for your info to get to the SSA. You may want to wait a few weeks before trying to get your SSN.

Yes. The confirmation page

I just printed my Loomis confirmation and it doesnt print "Confirmation" at the top like it shows on the web page. It prints the Trip purpose - " Permenantly immigrate to the United States - Register for Courier service only." And below it shows my name, passport number, reference ID, and Date of birth. So thats the only page I need to show, correct?
