Unfortunately, it could take up to 60 calender days from emailing your IV documents.

NVC has been very slow reviewing packages. :clock:

Thanks and OMG another mighty wait. Congrats on your case complete. Your almost done.

So turned out my GP didn't have the Tdap booster I needed, pharmacy had to order it. Should get it by end of this week, but man, I'm stressing!! My immigration medical is next Wednesday at 11AM! And so hard to get answers from Dr Cheema's office - some of his paperwork says what vaccines you need, but then references the CDC/State Department website that includes others that he doesn't.....

My GP wanted me to get the Shingles vaccine (I had it when I was 12, and chickenpox when I was little) but it's over $200 and I just don't need the extra expense....

What experiences have others had with the medical exam process???

(I know it will all be ok and work out, but after months of waiting for things to move, now things are whipping along!! LOL)

Peace all

Do you live in Vancouver? If so, I got Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) at http://www.vancouvertravelclinic.com/.

I'm going to make an appointment with Dr. Cheema next month. :star:

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are finally almost ready to send her IV documents. It has been a nightmare getting her police clearance from Taiwan which she dropped the ball by not submitting sooner ugggh (lol). This is the last step in emailing her documents and than waiting for a case complete. Assuming no checklist what is the timeframe for a case complete and then an interview? I am trying to read other posts for info. Great idea for this thread. Any new updates for the Montreal embassy, also? All replies will be greatly appreciated.

Paul

You're looking at just under 8 weeks (60 days) for your CC then one week for them to set the interview date. Montreal is running a 6 week wait time for interviews so if you send everything today and get no checklists then you should have an interview in the first half of January. Of course they wont be processing during Thanksgiving or Christmas so that will, unfortunately, add a few days to your timeline as well. Good luck, I hope they speed up the process for during your wait and you can be together for Christmas!

Marc had his medical yesterday (at Medisys in Montreal) and all they gave him was a tetanus shot. He hasn't had any flu or boosters and they did not require them. Just a little FYI...

I got the Adacel booster 2 days after ordering via pharmacy. Dr Cheema's office confirmed that I just needed the vaccines listed on their info (for my age group). So all is well! Got all my other medical records, am now in Hope BC with my hubby, heading to medical tomorrow and then our one year anniversary vacation in Victoria!!

Peace all. :)

Had my exam at Dr Cheema's today - hellish place to find, particularly in torrential rain and congested traffic. Got there half hour early but it was no problem for them to see me. Took my personal info, copied my passport and medical summary I provided.

Nurse took me to a back room, where I was weighed and measured.

Then I waited about 5 minutes to see Dr Cheema.

He's pleasant, matter of fact and the whole exam took all of 10 minutes. Despite a rather lengthy medical summary letter provided by my Dr, he pronounced that "nothing's the matter with you". LOL!
I went back out to the front, paid with my debit card the $280, and was given directions to a medical building several blocks up the road from his office, where I was to have my Chest xray and blood test. In and out of both in just a few minutes.

Now on my way to Victoria with hubby for our wedding anniversary holiday, and will pick up my medical package on the way back home.

I hope the interview itself is as easy and matter of fact as this was!

Peace.

I'm a little confused. Is the NVC process different from K-1 to CR-1? I know it's quicker but ...

I saw this link earlier in the thread: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process. It's dedicated to y'all CR-1ers.

I guess my questions is am I supposed to call NVC for a case number or sit and wait for a letter? Or both? And once I have the case number, even without the letter, am I allowed to call Vancouver for Packet 3 right away?

Yes you call the NVC and ask for a case number.

Once the CEAC status says "Ready" you can call Vancouver. Until then it will say "at NVC" or "in transit" etc...
