My son broke our tv tonight, so I was going through the DS-230 in anticipation of the DS-260. Will they accept "best guess" on these forms. I've never been very good at keep paperwork, and some of my old addresses and work dates are a little fuzzy. I never thought when I was 18 I would need this stuff later once I got married :s. there were times that I lived with roommates and didn't have a lease, or I moved and didn't get some of my record of employments (not that I'd likely still have them).

As long as you're currently employed, a woman, and not from a high fraud country, you don't need your past 10 years of work history. So hopefully you meet those requirements! I don't know anything about past addresses though. I've lived in the same place my whole life, and I'm still living here until I can be with my husband.

Anyone still waiting to pay the IV fee but sent the supporting docs in ??

I am still waiting to pay the IV fee but decided not to send in my supporting documents. We chose to do snail mail instead of EP, and I don't want to risk something happening to all of our original documents. I have doubles of everything except the police clearance and my husband's military records -- we just didn't want to take the chance.

Have you sent in yours?

I am doing EP so I said "what the hell, can't hurt" lol . I was going back and forth about it and then got the "60 day blah blah blah" email. I figured they are going to take their time doing things anyway. The worst that will happen is I have to send it again. I def would not have sent it if I was doing snail mail.

So hubby just booked 2 week trip to BC for our first wedding anniversary (thanks immigration people, HAD hoped to be moved by then, grr) and we're going to spend it in Victoria. I'm excited since I grew up around there, will also take hubby whale watching! Most of all I'm thrilled beyond reason to see my husband again after nearly 9 months....SO done with long distance!

Now just praying NVC doesn't all of a sudden speed up and tell me my interview is right around then! Wouldn't that be ironic???

I'm alternating between checking the NVC site every day and trying to ignore it every day.............................sigh.

Just blethering...................thanks for listening!

Namaste.

Well I managed to (kinda) stay away from the CEAC portal during the 5 days my husband was here but now he is on his way back home and I'm back to checking. I got on with fingers crossed that something had changed, but it hasn't . <_<

*deep sigh*

My priority date is 2 days after yours so I really hope you get your CC soon as i'm ready to take advantage of some of these happy emoticons!

So....I guess I am here now. Got my NOA2 on August 15th, and because of the doom and gloom I had been reading about the ever increasing wait times, I have decided not to melt my phone calling NVC for a case#...yet.

I do have a simple question for my fellow Canucks regarding communication with NVC. I am seeing that NVC's PREFERRED method of communication is email, but of course it is because they take two months to answer it...lol. So it is suggested to call, call, call. Now, I don't have a landline, I have a cell phone as my connection to the world. Hubby and I use Facebook Messenger to call each other, as it's free. We all know that won't work with NVC. I have read where people have been kept on hold for the better parts of an hour or more before speaking to a person, so my question is...do any of you know of a cheap way of contacting NVC by cellphone? I have been looking, but a lot of the apps I have looked into are not very stable. Please tell me what works for you?

Thanks in advance!

My parents call 10-10-925 and then whatever the number is when they make long distance calls on their cell phones. It's 5 cents a minute. My husband's phone plan includes unlimited North American minutes, so we don't worry about it.

I didn't find that it took too long to get the e-mail with my case number. I was approved on July 7th, and got the email of August 11th. I called on July 28th and they had just received it that day and told me to wait 30 business days. We were on vacation when we got the e-mail.

after waiting 37 business day for the ds-261 to be reviewed and countless calls to the NVC to see why it wasn't yet, today got some weird news.

Ariel answered and said that the ds-261 was sent to a supervisor to be reviewed on why it wasn't reviewed already :wow:<_<

As we know, sometimes the supervisor review can take up to 30 days, I was not happy and said I wanted to speak to a supervisor, who she gladly sent me over to LIAM. The best name i have ever said because he CLICKED CLICKED CLICKED and reviewed it right then and there!!! Told me to wait 3-5 days to get the email to let me know when to pay for the IV fee.

WTH couldn't they do that last week when I called .... anywho it's progress.

Have a great long weekend guys and gals!!
