If zero was his total income then zero it should be.

You pretty much sound like you have everything you need to domicle. Have the two main ones covered, a place to live and a job offer.

He had canadian income, and filed taxes in the us with the foreign income. Maybe I'm overthinking it, I just don't want a checklist.

I posted this over the NVC thread but maybe it is more appropriate here.

"Well now I'm not sure what to think. I called NVC and they told me our case has been transferred to the Montreal consulate on Aug 8.

I had asked our Congressman to look into what was happening at NVC a couple of weeks ago and I guess this is the result.

I don't think we were case complete when it happened so I hope things don't get screwed up now"

So now I'm worried our timeline will be screwed up. Our congressman got back to me said they asked for an expedite. The only thing we were waiting for was for the IV docs to be accepted and then hopefully CC.

What happens when the case (IR1) gets transferred to Montreal on an expedite? Can they reject it back to NVC and them I'm back in the general que to get CC?

Thanks

Not sure how you book the interview. Do you have an interview date?

Were you doing EP? Had you already completed your DS-260?

No putting zero is appropriate. You'd get a checklist for writing something other than what's on the tax transcript.

We were doing EP. DS-260 was completed. AOS was accepted.

Then you may need to contact Montreal to find out if you need to book your interview through the usvisa dhl website or with them directly. They will have everything else they need from your file. You bring the originals to interview with EP anyhow.

Thanks NLR. What is the best way to contact them and find out? NVC they may have not received my file yet so I should wait but I would prefer to be pro-active.

What does your CEAC status say?

The only way to contact them is an online form.

Ok,so I told myself I wouldn't, but I've been trying to call NVC at 603-334-0700 - all I seem to get is the same recording saying"no immigration visa information is available at this time, call back at a later time" -I tried pressing 0 but it bumps me back to that automated message.

I keep reading about people getting through. I've been calling in the evenings Pacific time, since they say they're available till midnight EST, which is 9PM here. No luck.
I feel like I'm just torturing myself, but................

Anyone in this thread been able to get through and at least find out what date of documents they are working on????

Peace.

So yeah, your timeframe would be 4am-9pm, eh? Yeah I've called at like 11:50+ EST before and that message appeared. I did it just for fun. I believe they have a cut off time of about five-ten minutes probably. If the lines are all in use up until that time then they probably just shut it off because they probably don't want any new calls to last until past midnight. That's the sense that I can make out of it at least. Best time to call for you would be 5-6 am because the am times are the least busy!

So ive read and got answers to support both sides lol.

So I am filling out the I-864, a lot of members say that one should put NA in all the blank spots. I am going over the form but I dont see anywhere where I would put NA.

The form says leave X blank if it doesnt apply to you. Or the part where it talks about sponsoring other family members or using their income. We are using none of that but I feel like we should leave just leave it blank.

What do you guys suggest? Did you put NA all over your I-864 in the spaces that you didnt write anything in?

thanks

I am not an expert like many others, HOWEVER, I did just do this stuff. Let's cover some basics. If you're filing abroad with the US Spouse in the States and using their own income you should definitely use the i-864ez. It's EASY. If it's just the regular i-864 then definitely put N/A where things do not apply to you! Not using a joint sponsor? NA that bad boy!!!

Now, if you do meet the i-864ez conditions, definitely use it! For "current income" you write what you are making THIS YEAR before taxes and stuff. It can only be proven with an employment letter really, otherwise it's just your word. For example? You work at a big company, you make 100,000 a year, you would say that. For your last three tax returns you'd put 2013 - 89,900, 2012 - 79,000, 2011 - 65,000, or you know, whatever your tax returns say you made for those years ;p These numbers are easy to find if you get the TAX TRANSCRIPTS from the IRS. They are super easy to read and easy to get. They are protected documents though so you have to print them out and re-scan them if you want to email them to the NVC. If you're snail mailing though it's all good to go ^_^

Anyways, definitely don't listen to silly things such as "leave this blank if it doesn't apply" That's what everyone says around here! Good luck!

I'll be sure to put NA where something doesn't apply to me.

It's the regular I-864 and we have a joint sponsor so it'll be two of those.

So, called NVC again this morning, got through after about a 15 minute wait. I think the evening hours are a crock, so figured it was worth it to try this morning.

Absolutely NO movement on my case. All the officer would keep repeating is that I have to give it 'at least 60 days' to be reviewed, nor would she tell me what date of documents they were working on,She certainly did not express much interest at all in giving me anything other than the party line.. Not sure if this call made me feel any better at all, just made me feel more pissed off by this whole stupid process.

However, it feels like there would be no risk in my husband booking his ticket to come here for our anniversary, as I'm pretty sure I'm not seeing an interview date in September/October. And at the rate it seems NVC is working, the only other upside is that I'll probably stay in my job here long enough to get my end of year bonus, which I was preparing to forego to get moved.

I think I'll still keep packing anyway........................have a nice weekend all.
