Trying to contact the NVC from the UK to check on interview date. Every time I call (00 1 603 334 0700) I get a busy tone. Has anyone tried calling them and did you have the same issue?

Hopefully you have a redial button on your phone. You may have to dial and redial as many as 50 times to get through. Sorry - not kidding. As the other poster said, try at 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (is that noon in the UK?). You'll just have to keep dialing. I have only gotten through on the first try ONCE - and I've called at least 50 times throughout the process!

Have you completed all three?

1. DS-160

2. Medical examination at Knightsbridge Doctors

3. Applicant's Notification of Readiness Form

If yes, then you should receive an interview date within six weeks from the last thing that you completed/submitted (standard processing times). If you are missing one of the three things then London won't assign an interview date until you've done all three - see the London guide for the relevant links:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

If you've completed all three and you haven't heard anything from them for a few weeks and/or your CEAC status hasn't been updated*, try submitting a query via their online contact form:

http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

I used "My inquiry concerns immigrant visas and is not covered by information on your website" but others have also used "I wish to know the status of my immigrant or fiancé visa application." I also gave them my LND number, date of medical, date submitted readiness form and date submitted DS-160. I received a response the very next morning.

It's worth bearing in mind that if you've only just completed one of the three items (see above) within the last week, you will be very lucky if London assigns you a date so soon, as it can take up to the stated six weeks depending on how overloaded they are.

Good luck and hope you find out soon!

*not always a reliable indicator that nothing has happened on your file, but it's all we've got unless we call or email about the status of our case
