He is LPR. But he applied for citizenship. and his interview is on October 14th. So hopefully I will be able to upgrade my case after that.

Our immigration story in short;

We married last year in july (2013) but did not file i130. We did not know the details about the procedure then. We were just about to file the petition when some people scared us saying it will take 5 years to get a visa if we file under f2a. So, we thought to wait for my husband's citizenship. Then unexpectedly all the pd for f2a became current during aug-sep last year.

And we got extremely unlucky as we did not file right after my marriage.

Finally, we were able to file this year. All the credit goes to visa journey for that. I wish i knew about this forum earlier then i could have celebrated my marriage anniversary together with my husband. anyways, better late than never.

Right now our case is pending at Nvc as our pd is not current. Bad luck here also, as retrogression hit right after we filed.

My husband applied for his citizenship way back in early february but as his local office is at new york,he is still not done with interview even after 8 months. Other offices take 5 to 6 months. Bad luck again. So we are waiting right now for upgrading our case to start it again.

And this time we really want to be lucky. i really wish october flies away quickly and my case starts moving by november.

Dont worry things will move faster. I am also in the same state, My husband is in New york waiting for his Naturalization Interview. Once its done we should be able to upgrade the request. i hope by the time I get the approval he gets complete his process.

This thread is for immediate relatives of United States citizens. You can't compare this group to f2a since we have to wait for visa availability and they don't therefore their cases will be looked at right away and definitely move faster.

When you look at the list of time lines on visa journey UNDER F2A, no one after my pd has received their noa2 as yet.

So today marks 4 months since my I-130 has been received, and still no update. My visa journey approval estimate which was between September 20-22, has now changed to "there are not enough recent approvals to generate an estimate...."

Since there haven't been any other approvals since September 10th the issue seems that the service center has just simply slowed down and not a specific issue with my case. Since I'm still within the 'normal' processing time I will give them a few more weeks before I start calling. At this point I guess I have no other choice but to be patient and VERY observant....
