Case Status Question i130

Hi Team

We sent our i130 form from New Zealand as that is where we both live together. This has been noted as being received on the March 11th 2014. When I sign in to my case status account on the USCIS website it says that the last update was on the 19th of March 2014< I'm assuming this was when the i130 cheque was cashed possibly.

My question is, should we be concerned that there isn't any update since then? I understand the average time for the i130 is 5 months, but shouldn't there be more transparency of what is happening with our case?

Can anyone speak on their experience?

Is it better to wait the 5 months before we do anything? Any contacts that you can suggest would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Matt

Hello Matt,

Same thing here. My was received Feb 25th, 2014 and and when I check the status it says that the last update was March 3rd, 2014 I don't know what the update was about, but I'm curious. I sent a money order so I don't know when it was cashed. At the bottom of the USCIS website it says * Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message. I guess they are working on it and therefore we should wait for our approval.

According to the USCIS you must wait the current processing time (5 Months) before you can even attempt to do anything.

Your petition is still within the current processing time according to them, so there isn't any recourse for you right now. Should it lapse +5 months with no changes, then you can start calling and inquiring about it's status.

Side note, please update your Consulate in your Timeline from Armenia to whatever it actually is. That helps keep things accurate in the forum.

I too am waiting at Nebraska and I wish you the best of luck!

There is zero transparency. You sit and wait until it changes from initial review.
