Hi everyone,

I just got off the phone with my fiance and we've decided that it will be best if he came to the states. Now I am slighlt awer of the fiance visa but I would like to know exactly where to start and how much in total will it cost us.. and estimate if anying... I know the Petition fee is like $170 but after that what else do we need to pay for... He wants me to give him a total and he would send the funds to me... Is it about $300-$500 in all... or more...

Let me know....

Thanks

The guides at the top of the main forum page are extremely helpful.

The I-129F application fee is about that much but all-in, I believe the cost of processing a K1 visa varies. Think about transportation fees to the consulate, medical fees, etc.

Start right here by reading and understanding what you are doing.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

The USCitizen does not need to send anything to the Beneficiary now. Only if the petition is approved and is forwarded to the foreign Consulate does the Beneficiary need to do anything. For now, read the guide before you start. Boa viagem!

4) Birthcertificate (you and him)

Per the guide ...

11. Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.

I hope this is still the case since I was planning on submitting just a copy of my passport.
