Paying for flights when PCSing?

Hi,

We are currently going through the marriage visa process and my visa probably won't be ready when my husband does his PCS move in July from England to Utah. I went to the ITT office today to get an estimate for how much its going to cost us to fly me over (i'm not command sponsored in the U.K and am not on his orders) and she mentioned that it is possible for my husband to amend his orders once he arrives in Utah and the air force will then pay for my flight. Is this true? I always thought you had to travel at the same time as your spouse?

Thanks!

Since you guys are already married and he has orders, why don't you guys try to expedite the process? Depending on what stage you are at depends on who you call. If you haven't made it past the USCIS, call the military helpline...if you are at the NVC stage, call the NVC. The passport office should be able to help if you are waiting on an interview.

There is provisions for you to follow him and still get it paid for, but you have to be on his orders before he leaves his current duty station. You have to be listed as a dependent on there.

If you are not on the orders, it will be more difficult and highly unlikely they will pay for it. Isn't there a rotator that flies from England? Being a dependent would make it possible and it only takes a letter signed by his commander. then, at worst you guys would have to pay for a ticket from the east coast of the US to Utah.
