I hate doing anything repetitively. I don't mind doing house work and cleaning (hey, it's work where I can instantly see the progress of my efforts). And I do like to cook and bake, and find a small amount of satisfaction in creating healthy tasty meals. My husband likes to cook more than I do, but his British tendencies (if he boils Brussels sprouts one more time, I may vomit), mean I like to be involved.

However, I get sick of doing both, and also work in binges. If I vacuumed or sweep the floors everyday, I think I'd snap. We also tend to work in shifts, where once I get sick of vacuuming, he takes it over for a few weeks, and vice versa.

Any kind of maintenance jobs, whether it's cleaning, or even self-maintenance (I can think of better ways to spend ten minutes rather than blow-drying my hair) I find pretty boring and tedious.

I did used to have a maid who came everyday. It was like living in a hotel, coming home to a perfectly made bed everyday! However, I had mixed feeling about it. Loved never having to do the chores, but I also often felt that I had no control over my household - someone else knew where everything was, and if I needed to find something I could rarely find it.

So the silver-lining, I suppose, for me, is that I am in control of the house and its contents and condition.

My wife does all of the cooking and cleaning while wearing high heels and sexy lingerie. Once in a while she'll even change the oil in the cars while wearing said lingerie and heels.

That is how I start...heels and lingerie! and then I see the couch and just give up - now feeling like the worst wife ever. And then I remember that is why I married a rich American, so he could hire help.

(More seriously, favourite chores have to do with the outside stuff, mow the lawn, snow removal, make pretty flower baskets, and such. I would change the oil in the car 100 times, or remove the weed between the bushes... before I wash the floor. I cook when I feel like it, wash my dirty clothes, he does his - we keep the place presentable and hire help once in a while for bigger work; just not enough time in a week - never pretended that I would be a domestic wife, but I would like a domestic cat :luv: )

I do 100% of the cooking and cleaning, but I like to do it. A lot of couples are more comfortable with splitting responsibilities and I think people just develop whatever works for them. Part of the deal with me being a SAHM, is that my job duties include those things. I don't like clutter, mess, and disorganization so it comes naturally.

What I find helps if you are struggling with it, is having cleaning supplies or Clorox wipes at the ready in the kitchen, bath, and wherever else you have mess. This way every time you are in the kitchen or bathroom you can do a little.

My wife does not like to clean and i am not good at it

I am good at Spreadsheets. I do one for her weekly of all the chores that are expected of her . I check them off daily as I inspect their completion As a reward if she hits 98% I stop and get McDonalds one night on the way home.

As for yard work she helps, but when it comes to driving the riding mower, I do that, because that is the mans job, plus i am retired so why not.

Only 98%? You're too kind.

I hope you have a beer holder on that riding mower.

I always find a way to keep it under 100%. Super size fries cost more
