Last night after waiting for until nearly midnight, I learned that our IR1/CR1 case has FINALLY been completed. I know better than to ask about the lag time until the interview.

BUT...

What accommodations are now available for government business? The Maximo Gomez address was very close by...walkable even..to the Courtyard Marriott and Barcelo. Now what?

Congratulations. What a gorgeous family. Come on over to the July Interview thread. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/498772-july-2014-interviews/page-21#entry7058167

And please fill out the Case complete form (look down in my signature) so I can add you to the case complete to Interview spread sheet.

As for accommodations I don't know. And as for when will you get an interview. I swear DR has been like dormant for it seems 2 months. Whats up with them?

Well.....what can I tell you. There are no hotels near the new US Consulate/Embassy location.

The public transportation, its hell. Where ever you stay, you will have to take a taxi...hopefully they don't increase the fare...and how to call a taxi if you can't have your cell phone with you and no where to put it? I guess there will be plenty of taxi cars waiting outside.

And if you rent a car? guess what, NO PARKING spaces. Only for employees. I drove around there last Wednesday afternoon, and there is no where someone could park..everything is bushes with fences...and I don't know if the traffic police will allow to park in front of the building or on the sidewalk.

Personally I'm waiting for those that will have the interview during the week after the 16th and ask them their experience.

:/

My husband said he same thing. I've been looking on TripAdvisor and Air BnB for apartment/condo rentals. Arroyo Hondo and Naco are neighborhoods somewhat close. Why would the US do this? Why wouldn't they at least have one hotel in place before the transition? Lorenzo has a car but driving in from Manoguayabo is a death sentence with the traffic. Google maps is showing hotels on Malecon to be 20 minutes away in traffic. Who knows?!?

But thanks for scoping it out.

There is a hotel in Naco, but like 20 minutes away driving, more cos from Naco to the new location you have to cross the Kennedy Ave and the Botanic garden, Arroyo Hondo is closer, but not that close..

There is no traffic at 6am, so getting there in time from Manoguayabo wouldn´t be a problem...only parking spaces.
