Hi everyone,

I'm one of the 2015 DV selectees from Italy and have a problem with the DS-260. My father's birth place and place where he lives is too long for the amount of text allowed in the box. The system doesn't allow me to write the whole names and keeps just a part of them. I wrote to the KCC but I've been waiting for an answer for two weeks.

What should I do?

Thanks in advance for your support!

If it's a multi-word place name, abbreviate some of the middle words if you can. Otherwise just type as much as you can and let it cut off the rest. It shouldn't be a major issue since they should be able to make out the name from whatever the form accepts.

I think I will have to let some letters off, since I can't abbreviate middle words. :)

I don't know how long it takes because DS260s are new this year, we are learning as we go along. For example only because someone posted the info about unlocking after talking to KCC that we know it is done. So, it would be useful if you could update us with a timeline.

From what I understand it won't affect your interview date as the original form has already been submitted, and in any case it's a few months to go, I think you should be fine.
