Police certificate for period abroad

I apologise in advance as this must be a constantly repeated question.

I have had conflicting advice and have resorted to trying to email the consular for clarification.

My problem relates to the fact that during my first marriage i spent two periods abroad as part of his job ( RAF Postings). I was under the impression as RAF police are present on all postings abroad that any issues would be recorded and dealt with by the RAF Police and therefore find themselves recorded in UK. Has anyone else experienced this? and can anyone advise?

I have been told that as it was under the auspicies HM Forces that the police certificate for the UK will suffice...

I have also been told that I need to contact the RAF Police Henlow Admin

I have been told so many differening things what i am hoping is that someone here has had a similar situation and can advise what they did?

Thanks and apologies

Post script: Seems the consulate website state HM Forces dependant can be covered by HM Forces person discharge papers canbe presented and provided the tour was Germany. The only thing that bothers me and i cannot see how this proves anything aout me because the discharge paper refers to the RAF Airman not the spouse or former dependant??? can this be right -they want to see discharge paper that refers to my ex husband ???

I am in the process of applying for a visa for my mother. She is in a somewhat similar position (except my father has since passed) so I'll be interested to hear if you know anything else.....

From what I understand, taking the discharge papers should cover you. I'm not sure though if you went to other countries other than Germany (my mum was in Singapore in the 60s).

I would try to get the discharge papers though anduse that - better to be covered.....

But yes

I am having my mum apply to Singapore for one - not sure what that will achieve though..... it was over 40 years ago and came in on my dads army id card, no passport, visa nothing. I highly doubt that they even have any record of her in the country...... all good fun!
