We had planned to send some pix that were dated but we could not find them so we sent a couple of non-dated ones that were taken on two of our trips. Can't hurt.

I-751, to remove condition on residency

Pictures seem a good idea if they help establish the legitimacy of your marriage. We are sending in pictures of the two of us together with the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate bridge, Plymoth Rock, the CN tower in Toronto, and the royal place in Warsaw in the background, and at other identifiable places. In fact I took some of these pictures because I intended sending them in. If you weren't really living together I wouldn't think such pictures would be likely.

Pictures don't really prove anything, and they aren't listed on the I-751 application. Best evidence of a real marriage is "financial entanglement." Joint bank accounts, investment accounts, car titles, mortgages, title to the home or a joint lease, credit card statements, insurance, etc. Affidavits (which anyone can write and say anything) and pictures don't really say anything...we didn't include anything like pictures or affidavits or any of the 'secondary' items at all, and we're not worried about it in the least...

Thanks to all for the guidance and support and speedy processing to all!

Affidavits are NOT required. The instuctions for form I-751 suggest that an alien

Submit copies of as many documents as

you wish to establish this fact and to demonstrate the

circumstances of the relationship from the date of the

marriage to the present date, and to demonstrate any

circumstances surrounding the end of the relationship, if it

has ended. The documents should cover, but not limited to,

the period from the date of your marriage to the filing of this

petition.

Here's the language that indicates that selection of evidence MIGHT include

affidavits, but certainly not a requirement

Examples of such documents are:

Would you agree that a very poor couple, who has no credit cards, no cars, no investment, no insurance, and no property / leases would be at disadvantage in establishing a "real" relationship?

Affidavits are not required, neither are pictures. Again, financial entanglements are your best evidence of a real relationship in a capitalist society. Every married couple has them, there are decades of jokes about them and if you are keeping your finances separate without good reason, that can be looked at as suspect (but certainly doesn't tell the whole story). The best evidence includes things that show you live at the same address. They are trying to ferret out people that got an initial green card, and then went their separate ways. The more things you can show, the less chance they will call you in for an interview. Even that isn't a big disaster, because if you live together 24/7 the interview is a cake walk. Finally, even if a disaster does happen, you have several chances at an appeal, so no one is going anywhere in the meantime. We didn't even think about removing conditions or set up evidence over the past two years, but just let life happen naturally, and ended up sending them an inch and a half pile of paper for them to weed through...anyway...good luck to all...
