Hello,

I am a US Citizen and I'm petitioning my mother. I have paid the AOS fee and submitted Financial Documentation almost 3 weeks ago by mail.

When I go online to complete the steps, the IV Fee reads 0.00 and it is greyed out (please see attachment). My case number begins with the letters BGT and according to the receipts I got from NVC, I need to fill out the paper form instead.

So, are they referring to form DS-230? I cannot even access form DS-260 (online form), it keeps looping back to the summary page. I've tried multiple browsers so I think it has to do with the fee.

This is very confusing and the NVC number is always busy.

I appreciate any information.

Diego

Hi Diego, I am in the same page. Petitioning my parents to come to USA. I already paid the $88.00 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FEE and sent financial documentation. Now I went and click choice of address and agent and complete the form and it's telling me I have to pay more fee.. But it doesn't say how much. It says I have to wait 3 days to see the bill in the mail.

Were on the same boat. My husbands trying to pay the IV Processing Fee for our son for almost 2 weeks now and still cant pay coz select box is greyed out and 0.00$ appears instead of 230$. Of course, we cant access the form ds260 coz iv fee paid status required. And no cover page for the supporting documents so were stucked. Trying to call nvc, busy hotlines always, tried mailing them,no response at all. Oh my, maybe we should wait till forever patiently to have the next move. May e they were having problems in their payment portals online.

The NVC is currently backed up... it's taking up to 30 business days (not the 3-5 they quote when you fill in the ds261) to invoice the IV fee (which is $230 per immigrant).

You can call them - get used to redialing because you have to redial multiple times to get through, and even when you get through you will be on hold for ages. They are understaffed, it seems. I know it's hard to be patient, but that's the only option.

Thank you all for the input. It is true, their phone lines are extremely busy, I finally got through after dialing about 30 times yesterday after posting my question here. So here is what I was told by NVC customer service (it might be helpful to others):

• They received my AOS paperwork and fee but are experiencing delays processing that data

• Once the AOS paperwork is entered into the database they will generate the bill for the IV, for $230.00

• They will email me the bill and once I pay it, form DS-260 will become available online

• The supporting documents (e.g. birth certificate, etc.) need to be mailed to the NVC center in New Hampshire

I was told to just wait a few weeks while they catch up.

Hope this helps!

Diego

Jumping in. I am currently waiting for the IV Fee to be activated as well. So, when the $230 IV fee does get activated, am I right that forms DS 230 and DS 260 need to be filled out? Please clarify. I'm so confused. Thanks in advance!

the IV fee bill usually shows up in the payment portal

3 to 5 days

after the DS-261 is reviewed and added to the casefile.

so - if you want to chase after something - chase the DS-261 via a phone call into NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes. DS260 form will be available once iv bill shows paid in the system (which happens 2-3 days after paying the iv fee). No need for ds230 though. It has been replaced by form ds260 which is online :)

Hi there! I am in the same situation. AOS paid. Petitioner submitted AOS docs and were received last July 25. Until now, AOS is flagged as N/A. No invoice yet for IV fee. DS261 completed last July 19. Called the NVS and was told to patiently wait due to backlog. Once, AOS staus is ok. IV fee will be invoiced and may proceed with DS-260 preps.

But the thing is my father, the petitioner, received this morning DS-230, which I believe is the paper version of DS260. Should I submit DS230 ahead of paying the IV fee? Please advise. Thank you.
