Wow, I'm excited to see so much good news on here! Congrats to rerto, kcros, genddob, tdck83 and anyone else I may have missed.

I haven't checked in here in awhile but we have our interview on Tuesday. I'm nervous about our evidence. We're still fairly young and we both spent most of our 20's traveling so we haven't amassed much as far as assets, ie property, cars, etc that we can both have our names on. We also are temporarily living with my parents so no joint lease or utilities. We sent joint bank account info with our initial application and will bring proof of a joint health insurance plan to the interview but that's it as far as primary evidence (although we have a lot of secondary evidence). We also never got his original birth certificate sent over as we were worried about it getting lost and once it's lost it's lost forever. The interview letter only said to bring his birth certificate, not original birth certificate, but what I'm reading here makes me nervous.

Don't be nervous - You'll be fine!

As for the birth certificate - some people don't get asked for it, however - I did. The IO wanted to see the original, and I explained it's an original certified copy - you can't get the "original", only the state records have the original. She wasn't sure that would be enough but after seeing mine which looks very "original" with stamps, watermarks and seals - she approved it.

The IO wanted to see the original, and I explained it's an original certified copy - you can't get the "original", only the state records have the original.

We have a similar situation. In Morocco, there's something called a "Family Book" with all the birth records of the whole family. We were way too nervous to have that sent as we could lose the birth records for the entire family. Hopefully the IO will understand.

I just had my interview with my wife. The officer was in a really bad mood and she separated us. The interview lasted in total about an hour. Now we are waiting for the decision to be made.

I wanted to wait until it was official but we were approved! Our interview was short and easy - it felt like the IO had made up his mind about us ahead of time. He didn't ask us any questions about why we suddenly changed our minds nor did he ask for my husband's original or translated birth certificate. He simply verified all our info and asked for what we had brought as far as evidence. We didn't have much - jut our wedding album, trip pictures and the confirmation of being on the same health insurance. He was understanding of why (just got SS #, live with parents so no joint lease, etc) but did talk to us about the importance of collecting evidence early for the ROC stage. He gave us the slip of paper saying our case was further review but said that was just a formality and we were basically approved. Sure enough, the online status changed later that night and my husband received his welcome letter yesterday!
