Communicating with Kiev consulate

We received NVC approval not long ago and I am waiting to hear from the consulate. I do not know if they will email me, send me a letter or if they will send a letter to my fiancee.

Is there a way I can be proactive about it? I emailed them with my case number last week and have not heard back from them. If I call there is a long menu and it is not clear that I can talk to another human being. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

If you have your new case number you can use this website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== To check on the status of your case. They will be sending you info for your packet 3 and how to handle that. This site will show you where it is in the system.

jay...now that you have your case number you can proceed without the so called "Packet 3." Pay for the DS-160...get the receipt and then start the final processes. We did everything without that letter and that is what it is. You can find all the steps here and on the embassy website.

There is a way to track DHL shipment of packet to see when it arrives at embassy from NVC. This way you know packet has arrived. Also, it is helpful in being able to schedule medical without embassy notification "in hand"...BUT, you will need to present this paper notification on day of medical, so don't make appointment TO soon. Embassy does take some time to mail notification (say..10 days), but nonetheless you will be notified by mail from embassy. Search DHL tracking. You'll see hundreds of posts on how to do it. Play around with dates. This doesn't make sense now, but you'll know what I mean when you read how to do it.

Embassy will send a letter to fiancee via Ukrposhta. This can take forever. You do NOT need this letter. Once the CEAC site says READY you can go ahead and schedule interview and medical. For medical, you will need some paper with the case number on it. It can be a scan of letter from the NVC, it can be printout of status check, or anything else where the number is listed.

Go to Ukraine embassy site and follow the instructions in their PDF to get all documents needed and schedule the interview. Again, you do NOT need the letter from the embassy, not for the medical, not for the interview. My fiancee got the letter from the embassy 3 days after we already had the interview.

There is no packet 3/packet 4 for Ukraine. You do everything yourself by following instructions on their site and just bring everything they ask to the interview.
