In the midst of this debate, I was trying to find some pictures of Ramallah that were "nicer" only to find pictures of destruction. I think it would be really good to see before and after photos if you have them. I think it will help some people put in perspective the loss of the palestinian people.

I'm sooo blonde. DUH. I was crying most of the afternoon and called Usama and ended up lying down for an hour or so with a wonderfully smelly turtleneck that he gave me that he hadn't washed for a few days. Totally smells like him.

Anyhoo i was like ####### triggered this feeling that my heart is being pulled until it's paper thin.......I was doing soooooooooooo good for the past few days.

You have to go back to 1967 to show how it was before the occupation -- of course life in general has changed quite a bit since then. But this is a very good idea -- let me see what I can come up with to illustrate some of the devastation....

Peddler - ahh, I love and hate these guys. It's nice to have fresh fruit right outside your apartment, but on the other hand, do they really need to start yelling that they have fresh figs at 5 am?

In case you can't make the connection, read up on where the infamous term Kristallnacht originates and what it represents. Barbarians committed the Kristallnacht and whatever happened to the depicted building, it ain't even close.

Sure it's sabur in the pic. (South Texans -- and a lot of other southwesterners -- will know it as prickly pear or nopales.) But Rahma was talking about a peddler and his figs.... so I went off a fig riff.....

Sabur is alllllll over the West Bank. Seeing so much of it here makes Mahmoud feel right at home ! (That along with all the rocks lol.)
