I-130 USCIS question regarding changed status

Hi everybody,

I have a question:
I have been checking on the case status on the uscis site almost every day. Yesterday the information on it changed..

This is what it said from may 6th up until June 3rd:

On may 6, 2014 we received this i-130 immigrant petition for relative, fiance or orphan and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. and a bunch of other stuff..

As of YESTERDAY this was changed, and we didn't get an email notification on it, can someone please explain what it means:

On June 3, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

? Does it just mean that they are touching our case, or should we call them? We never called or had our alien registration number changed

Did you also file for a K3?

Are you expedited in any way?

Humm, interesting....your NOA1 date is May 9th. Is it possible you made a error typing in your case number? I'd check it again to see if the same message appears, if so....you'll be getting some kind of news soon.

This is a message that many petitioners get at some point during the process. It may be that they do this to large batches of files and then put them back in the queue. In some cases people get it at the very beginning of the process. Others get it just a few days before their approval.

If you are expedited or have some reason to be auto-expedited than I would say that a decision is imminent. Lots of people that filed while living abroad are getting an auto-expedite.

If you have no reason to be expedited then I would guess that there is no reason get excited and you should just assume it's going to be a while still. But who knows, a very small percentage of people seem to jump the line. Hopefully it's you!!

EDIT: I got this same update yesterday morning. Yesterday evening I got an approval.

Ah, bummer!

Look on the brighter side, they're looking at your case!!!!

Best be getting an RFE earlier in the process rather than later.
