We filed ours on April 16, 2014 and it was transferred to Missouri. We just received our permission to work and travel parole card about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday we got a snail mail notification saying my wife may be exempt from the interview process?? Anyone hear of that?? Then it said that processing time could be 6 more months......arghhhhhhh :wow: Why do I pay taxes..... I told her next time fly to Mexico and walk across the border... it's much easier.

Your timeline did not show the K-1 process, so that threw me off. If you are adjusting from a K-1, then it is possible you are not going to have an interview. Unfortunately those getting approved without interview are having to wait longer for the approval than those getting interviews.

You may get a letter about your interview being waived, or you could also still get an interview. It is a waiting game, but at least you are waiting together this time. Here is a thread about the interview waivers > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452854-notice-of-potential-interview-waiver-case/

Thanks KayDeeCee for your info and link. They are really usefull to me. After checking that link, I found a bunch of people were in the same situation as mine ( in "acceptance " stage for months) and later they got a letter for waiver interview. I feel a bit better now since I'm not the only one who got stuck in this stage of waiting.

USCIS is mainly funded by the immigration fees, such as those you pay when filing a form, and not from taxpayer funds.

I highly doubt sneaking across the border and living here undocumented is easier than entering legally and becoming an LPR.

Just wanted to share that my case was also sent to Nebraska Service Center instead of my application staying at NBC. I wonder why that is though? Could it be just a random thing or what?

Wow good for you....
