I received my passport back today with visa inside (YAY!) and the sealed envelope NOT to be opened. My envelope has been sellotaped up, both ends, I was just wondering if there is a way they will know that I wasn't the one to open/retape the envelope?

Sorry if it seems like I am worrying about nothing, but thought it was a little odd...

Congrats on your approval. My ladies interview is on Fri in London. Could you do a review of how it went she is fretting about the questions that are asked. They may or may not know if it was you that opened it. I do not think the do a special seal on them. They just want the package to be unopened when it gets to the POE. AS it has your entire file in it and if it is opened all the paperwork has to be re verified. Any help you can provide on the review would be appreciated.

I was asked three questions, how we met, how often we get to see each other and what my fiance does for a living. Nothing to worry about at all. My interview was at 8 and I was out by 8.50.

Be careful though. There is an exploding dye pack in it, if you open it..........

My envelope was also taped shut with a seal/stamp over it. A few other people recently have had the exact same as us too (it may just be how London does it now to make it more secure)

I was concerned about the same things as you too, but I've decided it's all ok :)

I was concerned about the same things as you too, but I've decided it's all ok :)

Ah thank you, that puts my mind at ease. It does seem to be quite a heavy envelope with loads of paper moving about, so I guess they may want to make sure it's 'secure'.

I'm sure it is ok, we know we didn't open it after all. :)

It's strange because as a CR1 filer I have a white envelope that's stapled shut not taped. Maybe different staff send the different visa types out.

Or maybe they get that bored the person thinks 'today's going to be a stapler day' :)
