It is quiet in here this morning. I wonder if J was taken in by some friendly illegal Chinese immigrants and she'll be working in a Chinese restaurant soon.

Are you planning to visit Philippines soon?

The plan is next year. Which isn't soon enough for her, well me either, but we can't break the bank either.

Asia is busy stalking Linkin Park in Poland. :P

Is J taking bus to NYC and then to Vermont for cabin vacation with FIL?

Secret liaison with J and her FIL?

1. We are planning on going to Denmark next summer, but it isn't cheap. How much does a trip to the Philippines cost for two?

2. Nah, I think other people will be there. ;)

About 1800 each for tickets to Manila. Maybe $75 each person to fly around inside the Philippines. As the the rest of the costs, it mainly depends were we're going. With family and staying in the family home, maybe $50 per day. We go to our favorite resort and it jumps to $200 per day. But that is just a quiet rest get away, so only a couple nights there typically. Prices vary so much. You can go some places and pay rates like you're in the USA, and go other places where the hotel is $25 per night, and food is 10 to 15 per day for two. I figure we'd need about $6000 for three weeks. When it was just me traveling there, it was about $3500 for three weeks. It didn't seem to matter a lot if I was staying with family or elsewhere. When you're with family you spend more money on all of them. On your own, costs are higher, but you're not buying for a crowd either.

The flight alone from US to Singapore for 1 person only is enough for 2 persons vacation trip to Cancun with all-inclusive resort.

:yes::yes: You got that right. Same to the Philippines. But I can hire an entire boat and dive master to scuba dive all day for less than a single dive elsewhere.

Morning folks. Scattered my father's ashes yesterday, as well as my uncles. Many jokes made about the two of them fighting in the afterlife, and in the lake they were scattered in, with my father being upset his brother was scattered first. Funny no one had happy words to say about my father, even his own family knew he was a pain in the butt ornery cuss.

MIL is out of the hospital. She was short many different vitamins, has a fatty liver, and had an infection. Wife is finally a little less stressed out. She was in the good hospital. Turns out there was a discount for being a senior citizen, she could get a benefit from my SIL's FilHealth plan, so its only costing us 12,000P ($285) for her stay. Would have been 34,000P ($809). We've got 64,000P in the bank over there, just for such emergencies, so all is working out well, and they didn't hold her hostage, incurring more charges because they had not been paid. Although its officially illegal to hold someone in the hospital over there, no one enforces the illegality of that. You'd need to hire you own lawyer, and more $$$ or more precisely PPP to get out of the hospital. We're going to send over more vitamin supplements for Momma, so she doesn't repeat this hopefully.

Hate airports and flying. The employees so often seem to pull stunts like that.

(hubs hates flying as well)

I hope she feels better soon. Glad to know it's nothing too serious. :)

Everyone should simply become a rubia (or, if one already, more of one) and be done with it, see man.

No can do, this hair would not look right o me for that matter.

oh - i am sad to say -

the parakeet died circa 7:00 PM ... I can only imagine it was from the stress of being confined in a cage with no one to take him out and play with him...

I'm a bit sad - but no one called about the bird...

Poor thing, all the stress from outside was probably too much.

So despite getting to the very small airport 10 minutes before boarding began on my flight (and half and hour before take off), they wouldn't let me on. Now I've got to wait in the airport until 2pm. Boooo.

Now that sucks.

Glad your MIL is feeling better.
