So my god mother had to go to a funeral.

My step dad decided to treat the dog just like our dogs and open the door and tell them to go to the backyard.

Oh no, how far away does your god mother live? Because you know that dog isn't looking for your house. FB has some lost dog pages, I know lost dog Minnesota is great at helping to find lost dogs here. You might want to check if they have a page like that for your area.
