I remember that one very well. My eldest daugher realized knocking on doors and people giving you candy was a great thing. She didn't want to go back inside after I carried her to every house on the block, she wanted to do the other blocks too I didn't have a snowblower yet when the storm hit. The next day I managed to get out and buy the last one in the store. People were offering me money to let them buy it before I checked out, and offering me more than I paid to sell it to them after I checked out.

Why it was only 28 inches? Everybody basically got one snow day and back to work. I think the schools closed for two days. It was a pretty festive atmosphere outside actually. People really came together to dig everyone back out. Outstate may have taken a bit longer to dig out.

The roads must be horrible to drive on, I would not want to stuck in traffic for hours moving inches by inches.

It was like that during the storm at rush hour. But most of it came overnight. As usual, Minnesota had the roads open relatively soon after the snow ended. The biggest pain was the snow banks on the side of the roads were about 6 feet high and corners had near 10 foot banks of snow. You couldn't really see anything turning onto a road, so had to inch out slowly.

As usual, I appeared to have underestimated the time required to complete a moving job. All the stuff is by the truck, but tetrising it all in is the time consuming part and we get charged by the linear foot, not by the poundage.
