Hello, he married an intelligent University program director, not some meek soft spoken church mouse who he can manipulate at his whims and fancy

I come off soft and too kind (not my words).....I think it is a cultural thing too....I was raised to be respectful, nice and say sorry all the time and thank you and ask for permission so I suppose that could have been something he saw and assumed that is how I will always act no matter the circumstances which is what his mother thought as well..that I don't need to be considered because I will just do whatever and am afraid to say what I think or want and just go with anything. To me....as a guest I had no right to do that in my mind but i am supposed to be part of the family and as such won't take c...p from them in perpetuity. I still am nice but won't keep my opinion on things that are directly affecting me to myself either.

Somehow I think he married a figment of his imagination and didn't realize there was a real person there that didn't fit with his imaged image. I think we all do at some level, but time teaches us who they really are.

And women marry men expecting they'll change them, but they can't.

I cannot blame him as I had done the same and lesson learned I hope.

My wife is very nice, polite and soft spoken at all times to the outside world. This does not mean meek or submissive, she is very very far from that within the home. She's 4'10" of venomous steel if you upset her. Even in her home country, I watched her deal with a customer who had not made their payments and tried to make the excuse when she saw me, that my wife had a rich American BF and didn't need her to pay back her loan. Wow talk about a tiger, afterwards the woman took off and shortly came running back bringing her account up to date. I guess my told her I was the person who owned the loan business and was in town to send the lawyers after the people who hadn't paid up

I miss turning on the tap and having cold water come out.

Especially now that me and hubby are running 3 times a week.

Warm water just doesn’t cut it.

I hate turning the water on and it comes out warm, never saw that back home.

There's probably only a couple of us old guys that remember this

warm water is better for you though. Cold water is a shock to the system. Although a cold glass of water feels great when you're burning up.

Eating fresh fruit and veggies takes more fridge space, unless you're shopping every day.

Mr Ed had reruns for a long time, was a good show.

Fresh stuff takes up so much room, but so do all the gallons of milk I buy.

I know !! She totally does.... Oh well she is stuck with MIL meaning FIL in reality which is not bad at all. She will be in good hands when he is not working and hubs will play with her.

speaking of which...he just messaged telling me he will make an effort now to talk to me.....uhm....only took 10 months for him to say he will make effort ? Because he feels the end is near ? Won't really bother listening to me when I tell him but when poo hits the fan or is about to...he wants to make things work. grrrr

it just finally hit him that I was not kidding when I sent all those emails and that i was not going to be a push over who will just take it. That was his belief...he told me I was soft and not that kind of person so he never thought I would actually just say....thats it enough. He miss calculated...I am nice but there is a limit.

Failure is his biggest fear so you are right....he sees that yet again he is failing and wants to quickly fix it before everyone around him finds out and he will feel like a loser. He cares more about what people around him will say then anything else.

He won't face failure, he will play the victom and blame everything on you. A game my x-husband was a master at. But I won't go there right now.

I hate thinking back to life with my ex, and all the games she played. Its just not pleasant to remember what life was like back then.

I can so much relate to that. I could literally feel the pent up stress washing away when I got out of the house with her. I really have no idea how I put up with it for so long.
