My wife had a heck of time even reaching 30 MPH when she first got here. She drove in the Philippines, but it was mostly urban driving, where you would run people over if you drove that fast. It was a real treat trying to get her up to the 45 and 55 MPH speeds lots of the roads around our home are set for. But eventually she got there.

woo you guys i finally feel like i'm making progress in driving class. we went through some busy intersections and major roads today and i finally started driving at 30mph (instead of 15-18mph). the car makes a huge difference, the previous one had a lot of resistance in the steering wheel and the brake wasn't as responsive so i was really nervous about going too fast.

i never thought i would say this but...i think i like driving!

And you managed to only hit 3 parked cars and 2 dogs! :)

We're very proud of you !

I took my wife out to practice drive some, and I realized she would be best served by taking some behind the wheel classes. She always had me ride around with, and I was usually in the back seat reading while she drove around and the instructor gave her instruction. One day during her behind the wheel a mother duck with her ducklings following were crossing the road, 30 MPH zone. She thought they were just birds and would fly away, the instructor freaks when she was almost on them, too late to hit the breaks, he grabs the wheel and swerves just in time to avoid running them down. She was so embarrassed, saying I thought they'd fly away! Now its always good for a laugh between us.

yeah, i can relate to that. cars just can't drive as quickly in singapore because there's another car just 5 feet in front of you most of the time. a lot of it is stop and go inching also. scares me when jonas gets up to 60, 65 here.

Juna = vicious killer. She loves to eat baby ducks that why!

She likes to eat baby pigs now, I was the bad influence on that. We ordered up a baby lechon one time when I was there, in the past she always refused to eat them because they were cute little baby pigs. Well she decided to eat some that time, I wasn't aware of previous refusals. After she discovered how good they tasted, she's the one saying lets get a baby lechon

Oh and she's an attempted vicious killer, no baby ducks were killed in that drive outing

My wife kept being asked if she's indian, as in Native American. She was very confused by this, so I drove her thru a local native American neighborhood, and she sat with her mouth hanging open saying they look so Filipino.

Too true.... When I first met my ex-husband (who is a mix), I just thought he has really strong Jewish features, like maybe some fresh blood from the Middle East or something. I was little surprised when I found out.
