Ran into the governor of a muslim province in Mindanao with his entourage of armed thugs. I got the heck outa there in a hurry. They were holding a peace conference at the hotel I was staying at. Right not the guy is in prison, with many from his entourage, waiting to be tried for the mass murder of 50 some people, most journalists, that accompanied the spouse and sister in law of a guy that was going to run against his son for office. This is now known as the Maguindanao Massacre.

Given the corrupted useless govt, he will probably get out of jail and rerun for whatever mayor, governor post again.

On the document it says "name after marriage" and in that spot I put Lucas instead of his name. When I went to ssa they told me I would have to go to court to get it changed. Does that sound wrong? I'll pull up the license and look but they were pretty adamant about me not being able to change it without going to court.

In Minnesota, that name on the marriage certificate is you legal name change, its legally the same as going to court in Minnesota. This is a Minnesota marriage certificate? Getting a name changed in court will not change your name on your birth certificate, that always stays what it was then.

They tried, but I killed six of them, jacked one of their Suv's and got the heck outta dodge, or at least Davao City for the day.

This was before the massacre. He was also responsible for the previous president getting re-elected there. He turned in more votes for her from his province than there are people living there. It was enough to win her the election. He probably would have totally gotten away with it, but he killed so many people, with so many witnesses and they were interrupted by the army before they could push all the cars and bodies into the pit they pre-dug and cover it up. The muslim parts of Mindanao are really totally uncontrolled territory, with local fiefdoms and private armies ruling things. I kinda doubt he will ever run again, he's gotten too old now. But his family will still be a force there.

That is weird that it doesn't change your BC name, because getting a name change does change that information for people in other states.

Under exceptional circumstances you can get a judge to change your name and order the bureau of statistics to also change the birth certificate. But that doesn't happen in the usual request to change your name here. Its more like what happens when you get married. As in OK here's your papers, you name is now this, show these papers to prove the change.

Well, I want to legally have the last name of Allsopp. I don't mind losing Lucas as it reminds me of douchey people, so I dunno...guess I will need to stand on the corner to raise the funds for a name change.
