yah he had to renew it for the wedding.

So, you go get one and then make sure you have a photocopy of his and yours. Problem solved.

It is better than nothing, and you can always explain that you had to move for work. That is an acceptable reason for USCIS for you to be at two different addresses.

Be smart about this and seriously think about drawing up some wills, either some free or legal zoom naming each other as beneficiaries.

I'd take back the power and not be afraid to be a little bit manipulative.

Probably not, but it is all conjecture because of the variability of how these things are adjudicated. Also depends alot on whether you are doing it on your own or with him. With him you will need different evidence than on your own.

well I don't know that yet. We might do it together...it all depends on how things go in November...if he really moves, if he starts looking for work....all those things. So I dont know.

it's either Joint ROC, or divorced ROC. don't do a separated ROC.....that's the hard one.

Either way, I would make a very conscious effort to collect evidence for both types.

I understand what you are saying but I don't think I can do it. I cannot think about it like that...I know it is probably bad for me but...I just am not made this way. You can think this is stupid or I am rather but...I just cannot.

It is not stupid, but self destructive. This man isn't going to do right by you and you will be screwed or scrambling for evidence for a joint petition. At a certain point, you've got to be the person who advocates for you.

We are already at a year in America, have a binder full of evidence to choose from - joint bank accounts, credit cards, joint ownership of a car, joint car/health insurance, life insurance, wills, school paperwork listing both of us as my daughter's parents, fertility clinic paperwork, cards addressed to both us, a lot of pictures, tons of people who would vouch for us, IDs at the same address, mail at the same address, 2 sets of boarding passes sitting together to different places, etc, etc.

Totally going to shut up now, since you can see the difference.

yes of course I see the difference. My husband has no life to speak of and lives in his parents house hence....all I got is joint bank account, joint filing for taxes, pics, life insurance, people who would vouch for us and hotel reservations listing both of us on our trip to NYC but once I move and he joins me...we will have health insurance thru me, life insurance from my side, joint lease and eventually joint car....so I don't think it is that terrible.

just for the record...our marriage is going downhill and he is in no shape or form able to provide for us or be a husband or even an adult responsible for things - lack of confidence, fear...whatever but we did do things as any other married couple would have...with co-mingling whatever there was to co-mingle, we went to family events together, went to NYC together and all kinds of things. Nobody here in the family doubts we are/were in love....that we are in trouble...nobody doubts that either.
