Sorry if I sound heartless.. but please remember to take all the ROC evidence with you when you leave.

It will also be best if you could get your FIL to write a notarized letter stating you have been staying with hubs in his house from XXX to XXX.

Always be well-prepared than be sorry later on, don't put your legal status, new career in jeopardy when comes to ROC time.

So I know I've said we were going to do it for a while now, but just got the call from my husband that our dog has been put to sleep. We just couldn't move her into a family neighborhood afraid she would bite some kid in our backyard and I can't grab her when someone comes in the house or when she runs out because she'd bite me, so it had to be done. :crying: I still remember picking her up from the breeder when she was a puppy and carrying her outside for the first few months in my arms under an umbrella so her ear glue wouldn't get wet. She's been like a walking corpse for a long time now, so I think she would have chosen to do this herself a while ago.

Sad!

^This. When I divorced my husband, I made sure to grab photocopies of all of his important paperwork (like driver's licenses and bank account numbers) before I left. They came in handy when I was doing child support because I had all the information ready to go for their investigation.

Gump and Co going to the free money lunch?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chinese mogul invites 1,000 poor Americans to a Central Park lunch

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A Chinese recycling tycoon who has been angling to buy the New York Times Co aims to feed 1,000 poor Americans at a charitable lunch in New York City's Central Park next week, where he plans to sing and give each attendee $300.

Chen Guangbiao, who made his fortune in the recycling business before becoming a well-known philanthropist in China, took out advertisements in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal on Monday inviting America's poor to the lunch at the park's Loeb Boathouse.

During the lunch set for next Wednesday, Chen promised to sing "We Are the World," a 1985 charity hit song performed by dozens of stars, to his guests in English.

"I want to spread the message in the U.S. that there are good philanthropists in China and not all are crazy spenders on luxury goods," Chen was quoted as saying in an interview about the lunch with the South China Morning Post.

Chen's quest to buy the New York Times from the Ochs-Sulzberger family, which has owned the paper for generations, is widely seen as quixotic.

had a super busy morning. managed to do an early walk in for biometrics, then went for our skating lesson (and j bought his first pair of skates), then lunch - finally got my dim sum :D

- har gau (prawns were very fresh but skins kinda thick and chewy)

- pan fried radish cake with XO sauce (suuuuper good)

- spareribs in black bean sauce (j liked these, me not so much)

- prawn and seaweed balls (basically, deep fried junk - again, j liked them more than i did)

- salted egg custard buns (so so good, i loved these!)

nola, i'm sorry to hear about your dog :( hugs.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!
