Split system air is now the best

http://www.sylvane.com/friedrich-m21dyf-split-ac.html?s_cid=cse_pg

I have 8 tons of central air, and I've started installing split systems in my house. I have 2 units so far, and will add another 2 this year. They're very energy efficient.

Get a Fujitsu.

Then you got to run it on the outside of the house, the ductwork, especially if you've got plaster walls.

OK, here are the 2 outside units. It can be installed anywhere outside. Each of these are capable of powering 2 inside units (Heads). There is a 1 inch diameter hole in the wall for the coolant line, and a half inch diameter hole for drainage.

Now here's the inside unit. I didn't paint the wall where I cut the sheetrock open to make the bend in the coolant line (I got better at it with the second unit and didn't need to cut the sheetrock). It has it's own air filter, and is also a heating unit. It's very quiet.

Now if you want, you can get an outside unit to power 4 inside units. The SEER ratings on these are 3 times better than a conventional central air unit. I still use the central air, but these 2 units supplement it, and saves a lot of energy.

And I only installed 1 head for each outside unit.

This year, I'm going to install 2 more of these and see if I can do away with the central unit all together.

That all looks difficult.

no it really is easier than a central air system. And the cooling costs are half of a central system.
