poor dog. If the dogs is really going nuts though, there's not much choice than to put them down. locking them up in a cage when they want to be with people is not a very good life for a dog.

Sadly, they told them that the chances of the dog biting others will increase. And that if he does it again, he'll be put down. They have him penned up in an area about 5 ft by 10 ft now.

I've watched this dog grow up. Played with him for the last 9 years. It was 2005 he was born. Even the doctors were surprised that a boxer attacked someone.

NY State has a strict "Shoot the dog" policy.

Ya I wasn't too happy, to have hives if I didn't cover every inch of me.

I had a lab we put down because she went after Alexis. When Alexis learned to crawl the dog went nuts. We were not going to wait for something worse to happen and we couldn't find a safe home we could trust for the poor dog.

wow man. I thought Labs are the most protective and nurturing of all dogs.....

This sounds like the same thing that happened to that one rescue dog I had to evaluate, and then deemed unsafe and untrainable to be safe. my shih tzu who does have aggression issues, likes to growl when she plays and you'd swear she's gonna bite your face off. Its all play though, as her training has taken the aggression out of her behavior. But its always on the back burner waiting to come back if I don't keep the training up.

Ya we where heart broken she was 3 yrs old,she would lay beside her all the time, Alexis would roll all over the floor and the dog never cared. She loved Alexis till she started crawling. She went at her twice, once she did this thing they vet call a muzzle punch, basically they dog hit her really hard with her snout.She had teeth marks type of bruising on her face for the hit. After that we kept them apart, but one time the dog went at her even though she couldn't get to her she tried and I got nipped she didn't break the skin but I was bruised.
