was reading an "article" about a 37yo lady in singapore who rejected the advances of a male fellow club-goer and was subsequently doused with a drink and had a glass smashed into her face. she needs plastic surgery now.

reader comments have me shaking my head...

Like I said, be humble and don't test the limits of each party. Women just act friendly and do it professionally. Men just walk away smiling if the lady rejects in a nice and gentle way. Case closed. I can only make a wild guess that she said something nasty and make a wild guess that the man has serious self inferiority complex. So no one backs down and all are losers in the end.

why is it assumed that she was mean/nasty about it? and, if she rejects a man in any other way, is he justified in smashing a glass into her cheek?

already 37yo still dont know how to think? just say hi, chit chat, make friend, case closed. but no, instead [she] must be those act chio think shes almighty holy virgin woman and who knows did something to agitate the other party instead of just ignoring.

apparently the victim is to blame, instead of the crazy lunatic going around smashing broken glass into a woman's face.

like I said... it is very unlikely a man would smash a glass at a lady unprovoked

singapore is really small, so even that tiny handful of people posting dumb comments, works out to a much larger percentage of stupidity than i expected/hoped.

oh lord i just saw a comment saying that clubs look a lot like KTV lounges, and therefore can easily be mistaken for brothels. therefore, forgive the guy, he merely thought she was a prostitute.

The point is, unless you are consciously aware, physically pubs/clubs look IDENTICAL to KTV lounges/brothels. Even the women look the same. Scantily clad and swinging. So, if the men are DRUNK, its not surprising that they will mistake the place for brothels.

Just like him being there doing nothing should be enough (and rewarded if possible ).

I'm not touching the first one. Ok I will, every married man knows everything is all our faults, just ask our wives.

He's just doing what his parents trained him to do. My ex trained one of my daughters to be this way. 25 and still living at her home, and I doubt she'll ever move out. Attempts by me long ago to change the situation lead to alienation from my daughter and me being the enemy, because of course it would hurt my daughter's self esteem to expect her to responsible for her own actions and get off her butt and actually do something. I love my daughter, but I also acknowledge she's too lazy to get off her butt and do a damn thing about her situation.
