It has been 10 years since I was in high school and I can't believe how many people are still with their high school girlfriends and boyfriends. Bizarre.

Unrelated - I wish I had known my husband in high school, apparently Danish women aren't quite into tall manly men like we are here....

You sound like my 5 year old.

My solution is that she is not allowed to try anything new or get anything new until she learns how to properly swim.

he did sit outside while I was painting stuff for the roof though.....he did get bored since I was not really chatty while working. So...he tried....in his mind.

no no --- the toothless wonder, along with the bovine-experiment-gone-bad [collectively and hereinafter forever to be labelled as 'the wonder twins'] were both at work today. they work in same place. The elder got the younger the job. It's part of her protective shell game.

true that was today...I worked on parts of the roof on Saturday too though so that's where my comment to Nola comes from..just to make stuff clear.

Today FIL took day off to finish the roof since he did not manage over the weekend.

sorry jadarina of St. Basil's - if'n you'd tell a completely story - I'd have less traffic in making stuff up and slinging onerous labels at 'the loved ones' masquerading as humans.

FIL is a stand-up guy - in his own quiet way. Any long convos at the cabin for character-modification and teenager-angst-removal ?

ya...we talked a lot about the hubs about the MIL and about FIL and his view of things. Honestly...the only thing we came up with is hubs needs experience in life and needs to move out of their house period and me being his "new mother" is not an option. He is very happy to follow me because he knows I will take care of everything.

I told the hubs that he is expected to move out if he does not move with me - wherever I go. He laughed because he thinks they would never move him out so I told him that they are not kidding and he will be moving out no matter what.....he is now scared and promised that if I get a job by end of August he would join me around thanksgiving....of course to avoid having to do any moving out on his own but either way....*shrugs*

and I am sorry should have put the story all in one post so it is clear what I did and when :) - bovine experiment gone bad = best thing I heard today

oh wait - maybe you skipped over a step with the house-mate.

If you and FIL talked of stuff - then you (I THINK?) should allow time for the FIL to talk with the boy,

as in the end - he'll approach you with his own plan - and it's then (and IMO only then) that you can modify his plan to suit your needs.

Without FIL taking the boy in hand and having a manly talk - steps get skipped - and that's a really bad thing.

For the nonce - there is nothing tying him that town - he could drop out of sight at a moment's notice and no one would care about it at the jobsite. No One. This concept of 'come along 2.5 months later' is stupid. Yes, I know - consider the source of the stupidity - but that's not the point. Give FIL more time to have that manly talk and THEN wait a few days for the toothless wonder to approach you.

in the ol 'justice league' cartoons on saturday mornings - we were introduced to the wondertwins - who could morph into anything. I give that lovely couple that label on purpose - cause they seemingly cannot morph into anything... [hence why it's a joke] .......... wondertwin powers activate !! [google that phrase, la]

right....good point. I was going to go to both MIL and FIL and tell them to talk to him but then I did not which, in retrospect, was probably a bad idea.

to be honest..I know the wait till thanksgiving is stupid but part of me actually likes the idea simply because I am fully aware he will never find a job say...in NYC or wherever it is I go. He will just sit there and play his games and do nothing since he lives off of frozen pizzas and breakfast biscuits and swiss rolls. I want to get studio apartment and have two jobs, get a car eventually and just take care of my things without having to worry about him and his issues since he would complain. If he comes later....I will be up to date on things enough that I can deal with him so to speak.
