Hello.

Tomorrow I'm going to get 6 passport photos taken and Thursday we are getting married! We are able to get a certified copy of the marriage certificate on the same day, so I would like to pop this in immediately with my AOS package and post it the next day.

Could someone please check over my table of contents to see that I've included everything? I'm fairly certain I have, but it never hurts to have a fresh pair of eyes checkover things...

Check: exactly>U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Mail: The P.O. Box if it is going by US mail. That includes 2 day Priority Mail, delivery confirmation, and return receipt.

Special overnight deliveries fall into the courier categories. Use the street address for UPS, FedEx, and courier deliveries.

Form I-864

Copy of 2013 tax return

Suggestion: Include a photocopy of the W2 with a photocopy of the return.

Or

Print out a tax transcript which is available online and does not require a W2.

See I-864 Instructions page 6, fourth paragraph under Tax return information. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

This would be the correct address for courier mail? Its from the uscis.gov website.

I think I got my wording mixed up. We printed out his tax transcript from the website. I'm not sure how it is different from a tax return but I will amend the cover letter to say transcript.

Thanks for your help Nich-Nick!

That is the courier address. However 2-day Priority Mail is really sufficient. It is trackable and the delivery confirmed. I used this envelope each time. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_y8c3Gc3Ctf0/TQJKtNRhjAI/AAAAAAAAAoY/1aYE1xkKIKo/s320/envelope+edited.jpg

A transcript is an abbreviated line by line, no frills print of your return information straight from the IRS.

A photocopy of a tax return would be the various forms like form 1040, Schedule A, Schedule C, Schedule D, Form 2555, Form 8938....what ever your tax return entailed. W2 backs up the income you show because anybody could make up a fake tax form.

It is called Priority mail, not 2-day mail and not Priority mail express. Pick up a mailer free at the post office. The flat rate is around $5.60.

The income shown on a transcript is verified by the IRS. The I-864 instructions say:

"If you provide a photocopy of your tax return(s), you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your return(s). Do not include copies of these Forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your return(s) rather than a photocopy".

Follow the instructions.

I think I'm all confuddled. I think I've got it now...

Sending it to the PO Box via Priority Mail, around $5.60. It should take around 2 days and has tracking available.

If I send the 'return transcript' which we downloaded off the IRS website, then I don't need to include the W2 form?

Sorry for the constant questions :s
