I'm EB2 India PD Feb 6 2008 case; have NVC case number but not IIN. If I can get IIN from NVC then will I'll be able to pay fees? Also if affidavit of support fees applicable for EB category?

Did you click on the NVC process wiki and read it yet? The answer is there. it has nothing to do with your PD. Man you are fixated on that. Why would they give you a case number and IIN to login so you couldn't do anything.

We keep telling you you will go through NVC like everyone else the difference will be when you case complete you will sit until your PD comes up.

K... Since I tried filling the DS261 online and it says I'm not eligible to fill it for now... Perhaps NVC needs to get it updated from their end.

I'll keep trying week by week.. Hopefully it will go through soon.

What do you think?

From the NVC Process wiki

  • Note: if you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-261 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced.

Thought as much..

Perhaps I'll be trying it weekly till it finally allows me to further my application..

Any idea how long it will take for NVC to update my case number in their system?

@ Dwheels - I have been reading your comments with interest.....I don't really understand the explanation you give for why people cant pay their invoices.

There are a lot of people in the F2A category who have case# and IIN and are NOT able to proceed in NVC. They have had their case numbers beyond 4 weeks so it can't be the explanation offered in the NVC wiki that you provided (which incidentally, I did read so that I could understand the problem Franklinadamau was having).

I also read somewhere that NVC will let you pay 12-18month before your PD is projected as current.

my PD is in Dec 2013 in VSC and they are still processing sept 25 2013 filers. So many of us from 2013 have not even received our I-130 approvals yet.... so for the life of me I also don't understand why NVC would allow someone with a PD in March 2014 to proceed?

I'm afraid that I, like Franklin, am fixated on PD!!! I think it triggers everything in our category. I would be curious to know if there are any 2014 filers who have been able to proceed at NVC...

Unfair as it is, we know (based on feedback from different people) that the VSC (or CSC and others for that matter) doesn't approve applications in order.

Why wouldn't NVC allow them to proceed? NVC doesn't control what cases get to them. They rely on USCIS to approve and forward it to them.

Please don't get too fixated on the PD, it's only one of the many variables.

@ yannix - understood. ..

....but I am not talking about cases getting to NVC. I get that that will and does happen because people get their case #s. I am talking about being able to pay the invoices at NVC and then proceed on effectively to case complete.

you're saying don't fixate on your PD being current, because you can proceed to CC at NVC without PD being current? then why aren't people able to proceed????
