Hello everyone,

I am about to mail my I-129F application but I'm not sure if I should use my mailing address here in the states for my fiancee in Ghana since the post service in Ghana provides a very SNAIL mail service.

Thanks

For initial petition, I-129F, all correspondence will go to the petitioner. The beneficiary will have the correspondence later with the US embassy in Ghana.

Are you talking about listing your fiancee's mailing address on the G-325A, Biographic Information form? If that is the case, then list his Ghanaian mailing address.

While all initial communication about the I-129F will go to you the petitioner, once you pass the NVC, the embassy consular section in Accra will send a call-in letter to your fiancee via the mail, which usually only takes a few days from the time it was sent [for example ours was mailed out on May 19th and received on May 27th, and it might have been received sooner, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend (African Union Day and Memorial Day- for US)].

Additionally, outside of correspondence, it may look weird to the USCIS if your fiancee has a mailing address in the US, but is residing in Ghana. Just a thought though.

In the form I-129 F you can fill in mailing address for your finance different than his/her actual mailing address. In my case, since my finance is from a village and mail delivery to a village address is a so so, I listed my nephew's mailing address (Q. 3a, - in care of name) for mail delivery since he lives in the US embassy city. My nephew can then help my Finance with the forms as well as bring her to the USEM for the interview.

07/27/17 - K1 packet sent at the end of day.

07/31/17 - NOA1

03/22/18 - NOA2

08/28/18 - expected date for medical completion - Sputum test was needed

09/22/18 - anticipated interview date

We used an in c/o of as well as my then fiancé's mailing address since there was no mail delivery where he lived. As it turned out, when our case made it to the embassy they mailed the letter and he never got it anyways. We ended up emailing them and they let us come to the embassy with their email response

Use the correct address for your fiancee in Ghana, that is how NVC determines which embassy to send the file to.
