I have a few questions about the forms for the AoS.

When the forms are asking about current USCIS status, going from K1=>Marriage=>form filling... what is the current status? Where do we get the Alien Number from? I dont see it on the I-94.

The Visa expires June 13th, I had thought it was the 23rd so now I am in panic mode, needing to get these done this week and mailed off. She came April 25th, we were married a month later and here we are... her visa expires early, we are told because of the date of her medical exam.

If there is anything that you think I should have asked and didnt please feel free to answer that as well.

Thank you,

Ken

1. USCIS status: K-1 visa

2. The alien number on NOA-2 above of the name of beneficiary

3. The K-1 visa is void after the beneficiary enter the US soil. Now, she depends on I-94 form. You should get married within 90 days from the admission.

Current status of your wife is still "K-1 visa holder".

You can see the Alien number (A#) on the I-129f NOA2, refer here: http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/albums/Immigration/I-129F-NOAs/NOA2.jpg

Her K-1 visa is null and void after POE. It is the I-94 that defines her 90-day legal stay here in US. You will see the "admit until date" on the I-94, and I don't think you have anything to worry because the 90th day will be sometime in July.

Thanks again everyone!

Couple more questions:

1. Why is the I-131 Only partially fillable? I have tried other copies from the net inculding the USCIS website, checked my Acrobat version... and once I get to page 2 I can not longer fill it in.

2. For the name of the person requesting adjustment of status, my wife, are we now using her married name (she is taking my name) or using her maiden name on the application?

This may seem like a silly question but I want to be certain the forms are filled out correctly.

3. Question 16 on the I-765 say to refer to the "Who may file" part of the instructions. There are two letter/number combinations for the K1 visa holder. One is used on the example form

On this site and the other is not. (a)(6) and ©(9) are both used. (a)(6) is in the title and ©(9) is at the end of that particular area. Which would be the correct one to use?

1. IDK

2. Which ever name she wants to use. If she wishes to keep her maiden name use that. If she wishes to take your last name use that. The marriage certificate serves as a legal name change if she chooses to take your name.

1) If you check the appropriate 1d. for Advance Parole, then the rest of the data fields in Part 2 do not pertain to you. As it states, those are only if you check 1f. You cannot fill them in when correctly checking 1d. You should still be able to fill in Part 3 questions on page 2, such as date and length of trip. The ones you can fill in should be highlighted in color.

2) If she is now using your name after marriage, then she uses her new married name on all the forms.

3) Adjustment applicant, (c )(9 )

Check out the example forms here on VJ. They are helpful.
