Hello All:

I am in process of apply the Green Card for my wife, who come to United States under K-1 Visa. There are something I'd like to receive your advice on:

1) Is it a MUST that I have to submit all supportive papers such as joint account, my proof of employment, ect. at the same time with I-485, I-846? If not, will I be notified later on by the Immigration?

2) On my wife's SS card, there is a statement which says, "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" Having that on the card, do I still have to apply the Work Authorization for her? If I have to, then which form is it?

Thank you very much for your time,

NDC

Hi Nguyen,

1.. Try read the AOS forum and the forms needed to adjust status, while you do not need to send your joint account statement with your application, but you will need to take it to the interview that's after your AOS application has been approved and ready for interview.

2. Yes, you need to apply for your wife's work permit, as the SSN does not qualify her to work.. She will need to use the SSN that's after her EAD is approved.

Goodluck

1) you dont need to include joint account now but you will need to bring it to interview day.

2) if your wife wants to work while waiting GC, then she needs to fill out EAD.

EAD is I-765 form and you might want to apply AP( I-131) for travel document. Both I-765 and I-131 are free if you file together with I-485.
